✅ We have completed repairs between Preston and Carlisle and will reopen the railway later tonight. 🚆 Tonight’s Caledonian Sleeper service will run and other services will resume tomorrow morning. 🙌 We thank passengers for their patience while this crucial work was carried out.

🚆 Trains on the West Coast Main Line can once again reach speeds of 125mph, following our £26m track upgrade at Hanslope Junction. ✅ The junction’s speed restriction has been lifted, successfully returning it to full line speed for our passengers three weeks ahead of schedule.

✅ The West Coast Main Line was reopened today, after being severed for 14 days as we replaced a railway bridge that takes it over the M6. 🚆 The new £60m, 130-metre, 4,200 tonne Clifton bridge will welcome trains across it and motor vehicles under it for the next 120 years.
