LIV Golf is bringing a team identity to Oklahoma. The league announced Smash GC is being rebranded as OKGC, making Oklahoma its official home market — the first LIV franchise tied directly to a U.S. market. The team will be led by Oklahoma native and Oklahoma State alum Talor Gooch, who called the move “incredibly meaningful.” “This is where I grew up… to now represent this state through OKGC is something I’m really proud of.” LIV says the shift is part of a broader push to connect teams with cities, expand fan engagement and build stronger local ties. OKGC will debut under its new identity later this season at LIV Golf Virginia.

“It hit me pretty hard.” Sam Presti told the full story of learning Russell Westbrook was retiring, and how the news took him all the way back to evaluating the teen the Thunder were considering with the No. 4 pick back in 2008. About an hour after Presti learned the news, Russ called him. Presti remembered Westbrook getting hurt during his first workout, flying to Beverly Hills to meet with him and looking him in the eyes to determine whether he could handle the “avalanche of criticism” they knew would come if OKC drafted him fourth. Westbrook convinced him. Now, Presti calls his retirement a “full-circle moment” for one of the most influential players and people in Thunder history. “I’m just happy for him.” #ThunderUP
