Indian people do not go to food banks because they are in need of food, they go to food banks because the food is free. In Indian culture such shameless opportunism is perceived to be 'resourceful' and 'clever'. There's even a name for it: 'JUGAAD'.

Unfortunately New Zealanders have to deal with this type of behaviour all too often. Toll road scams and blockades/roadblocks are sometimes used by Maori tribes (Iwi) to prevent non-Maori (Pakeha) from entering public recreation areas such as beaches, slipways and trails.

I just found out there is a word to describe this behaviour. It's called 'IZZAT'. Accepting responsibility for their drivers licence fraud is to 'lose', which destroys their 'izzat', so they reframe themselves as the victims. The post below explains it better than I can.
