One thing I love about our GAA community is that every time we lose a game, this auld video inevitably - INEVITABLY - does the rounds in our Tyrone WhatsApp group. Keep the faith ❤️⚪🔴 Derry Gluck Cheers God

Was in my late 20s when my ma told me two IRA men planting a bomb near their home set it off by mistake- my granny went out to cover their body parts with blankets so kids round the estate wouldn't see before cops came Just told me that 1 day like she was telling me the weather

I'm a journalist and this is the clearest, most concise way I've seen it explained thus far for those who genuinely haven't a clue

GAA President Jarlath Burns gives a shout-out to the Irish diaspora/ancestors worldwide "You are in Croke Park today, if not in body, but in spirit, & we thank the countries who took you in & gave you jobs & allowed you to make a new name for yourselves with our native games"

I don't think there was enough hype around the fact that there was a vintage caravan parked outside Grand Central Station during the Fleadh that was putting on fake wakes for anyone who wanted it ⚰️✝️ Dark Irish humour at its peak

This was maybe missed because of everything going on with Drumcree - but I reported on the 'March for Clean Water' at Stormont yesterday, where activists poured water taken from Lough Neagh that morning, onto the steps of Parliament Buildings

Imagine telling someone five years ago that a song called 'Get Your Brits Out' would be blasted out, surrounded by over 100 police officers, outside one of London's busiest courts

I absolutely guarantee ratings for Corrie in Northern Ireland have never been the same since Julian left. People talk about different aspects of 'the good ol' days' - childhood nostalgia for me is *this* 😭

For all the doom and gloom in Belfast, it truly is one of the best cities in the world, with some of the best people. There's nowhere else like it. And this video of Jelvis with a woman on a mobility scooter epitomises that all for me for I am HOWLING 😭😭😭😭

Last thing I’ll say on this: no one critiques my writing more than me - I’m always trying to improve, & it's subjective anyway! But I did win a UK-wide sports writing award… & a GAA story helped get me there 😉 (Dharmesh had to present it virtually as it was lockdown!)
