The average high school teacher hears their name called 80-95 times a day. The average middle school teacher hears their name called 90-115 times a day. And the average elementary school teacher hears their name called 50,000-60,000 times within the first 5 minutes of class.

If you are a teacher, and your partner or spouse can’t understand why you don’t want to answer a single question when you get home—show them this. This is why I, and many educators, have difficulty answering the simplest questions after a school day.
