Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones didn’t explicitly say “we’re comfortable with Pickens playing on the tag” but this clip certainly alludes to that. “We can do everything we need to do” with Pickens’ 2026 salary at ~$28M. “Once you have the tag, you have the tag and we know George is going to be here.”

For the first time that I can recall, Cowboys DE Micah Parsons expressed some doubt in an extension getting done: “If this is the end, this is the end…I understand the nature of the business.” He said his agent has reached out to the Cowboys and has been waiting on their move.

Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs held court with the media to give his side of things. He said he was surprised by his $500k dock in pay: “That hurt my feelings.” Said he leads in his own way and won’t change his leadership style for anybody. He believes in his own rehab away from team.

Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones says he has come to an agreement with Micah Parsons on big aspects of his contract extension: “Term, guarantees, money, all of those things we’ve had a meeting of the minds on.” Agent David Mulugheta has not yet been involved in the nitty-gritty talks. Jerry says, “I’m the one who has to sign the check and Micah is the one who has to agree to it.” Later says he doesn’t even know Parsons’ agent’s name. On why he would wait any longer to get it done, Jerry says he likes to get the full scope. What could that be? Potentially waiting to see what kind of leadership presence he brings this offseason. “I’d rather pay more and get it right than pay less and get it wrong.”
