Dancing to celebrate the national title.

Live every day like the pop-tart lived its last one:

If wins don’t matter and the number/quality of losses don’t matter either (as a disqualifier), then is he advocating for picking a Playoff field in August based on what rosters look like on paper? He’s asking to completely devalue the regular season.

Nick Saban said this week that the markets for coaches and college football players are “totally different.” He talked about the value that *coaches* create for their universities, but he’s missing a couple of key points:

Tennessee’s performance against Ohio State should end all of the arguments about the SEC teams that weren’t in the CFP. It was a shame those arguments overshadowed actual football, by the way.

50 years ago, the Indiana basketball team went undefeated and won a national title. Back in November, I talked to Curt Cignetti about it, with his football team chasing perfection. "Can we equal the achievement of the (1976) basketball team? I guess we're going to find out. "

A few years ago, Oregon State was left for dead after the latest round of realignment. Now, the Beavers are legit Pac-12 contenders with an electric offense and a true freshman receiver who’s putting up bigger numbers than Jeremiah Smith. Could Jesse Legree get to NYC?! 👀

Listening to OTT TO GO on repeat to today. A banger. The Calgorithm remains undefeated.

“The best way to think about the CFP rankings is that this is a group of people that decides which teams they like, and then they retroactively come up with reasons for each of them. … “Tuesday night was a breaking point … we’ve got to stop pretending this charade is real.”

Indiana AD Scott Dolson and Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti react to the game-winning interception.

Here’s our NBC Sports feature on Matt Rhule and the way he’s trying to build this Nebraska program:

After six straight wins, Notre Dame has now done enough to make up for its loss to NIU. The Irish have gotten better as the season has gone on, and the CFP selection committee should give them credit for that:

In my next life, I’m coming back as Wild Berry Pop-Tarts Bowl

Don’t be mad at Tulane and JMU for making the College Football Playoff. They did everything they were supposed to do — at a time when it’s harder than ever to find Power 4 teams willing to schedule good Group of 5 teams. Be mad at the system (if you must be mad):

Here’s our NBC Sports feature on Illinois QB Luke Altmyer:

It is time to have the James Franklin conversation. Joshua Perry NBC Sports
