As you can see, he was pushed away by police and warned that if he didn’t leave he’d face arrest. The video on the right shows someone in the pro Hamas group, giving a Jewish person the finger in front of a police officer who did nothing. The two tier element couldn’t be starker. For more than year British Jews have had to put up with this light policing of groups of people who are not shy about expressing their support of the aims of Hamas. Using a formula utilised by disgraced Bristol Uni Professor David Miller who recently won against an industrial tribunal appeal, she claims that she was wrong to have been taken off air due to her ‘protected beliefs’. In Miller’s industrial tribunal, it was found that his specific antizionism at that time (he has since become even more extreme) was a protected belief. But the question will still be whether HER antizionism crossed over into antisemitism and she was right to be taken off air. There is nothing antisemitic about criticising the actions of Israel but it’s when you move into more conspiratorial discussions about Jews or (((them))) that a can become antisemitism.
