The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald The internet increasingly rewards the angrier, louder side, the more certain-sounding side, often the stupider side. Maybe intelligence is being able to understand why the other side believes what it believes. Introducing WTF: Discourse. Two opposing ideas. Two people who actually believe them. No winner. Just the strongest version of both arguments. You decide what you believe.

UPI feels simple because most of what makes it work is invisible. I followed one payment all the way through with Sameer Nigam (PhonePe), Harshil Mathur (Razorpay) and Sohini Rajola (NPCI): who moves the money, who pays the cost, and where fraud fits in. Then we argued about AI agents that could shop and pay for us. What would you let an AI agent buy without asking you first? Coming soon.

India gets about 10 million foreign tourists a year. Dubai gets 18 million. Dubai is basically one long road. We are 1.4 billion people with the Himalayas, Goa, Rajasthan, Kerala, the Andamans, 5,000 years of history and arguably the best food in the world :) Something doesn’t add up. Two men who built India’s biggest travel and hotel businesses agree on one thing: the country is easy to leave, hard to visit. India has transformed dramatically over the last decade, better roads, airports, digital infrastructure and connectivity. Maybe tourism is the next big opportunity. In this episode, the CEOs of MakeMyTrip and Taj Hotels tell us 5 things that could get a lot more of the world to come visit India, and where the opportunities for entrepreneurs might lie along the way. Episode out now..

Trailer out now: She grew up five minutes from me in Jayanagar, he became the first prime minister of Indian origin of the UK. They've been together 20 years and still argue about ice cream flavours - we talked to him about how it felt to lose power, to her about how it felt to never be seen as her own person, and to them both about what the future holds. First couple's episode we've ever done!

I went to China with the questions I didn’t have answers to. Are tariffs ever an answer? Why does China keep buying American treasuries? Is the world turning left again? So I sat down with two economists who’ve spent their careers on exactly this: Matthew Klein, co-author of Trade Wars Are Class Wars, and Ning Zhu, the professor who predicted China’s housing crash. Coming soon…

People said Indians can’t build premium brands that work abroad, well here’s Rahul at Subkos flagship store at Dubai Alserkal, Superyou now sells in Dubai, 11.11 sells in New York and Brad Pitt wears it in a movie (unpaid), Nappa Dori is on the parallel street to Subko in Alserkal (ps I have nothing to do with Nappadori, just proud) The Foundery will hopefully create a few brands like this too... Premium, artisan, COOL, Indian brands to the world ❤️ 🇮🇳

Howard Marks runs Oaktree, a $120 billion+ firm built on distressed debt, has been writing the memos Warren Buffett opens first for over thirty years, and just changed his mind on AI after a single conversation with Claude — we got into where the $10 bill nobody has picked up is hiding right now, why he picked debt over equity for an entire career, and why the herd is almost always wrong. Full episode drops soon. Oaktree

WE'RE HIRING FOUNDING ENGINEERS AT WTF. We’re building one of the most exciting projects yet at WTF, something that will shape us as a brand, as a platform, and (hopefully) create a far wider impact with and for the youth of India. The core team will work directly with me and a handful of the best folks from WTF. This is on-site in Mumbai, full-time. Ground floor. High stakes. Real impact. Here’s who we’re looking for: • 4–5 Founding Engineers ready to roll up their sleeves. • Builders who’ve taken products from 0 → 1 and scaled them. • Strong fundamentals, obsessed with end-user experience. • Comfortable making smart trade-offs across scale, cost, and latency. • AI-native thinkers who can straddle frontend, backend, ML, infra, and stitch it all together. • The curious ones who tinker, break, hack, and rebuild. If you’ve been exploring with LLMs, Cursor, or AI-first tools, even better. Show us your GitHub repos, the side projects, experiments, and crazy hacks that reflect your curiosity. If the idea of building something transformative from day zero excites you... Email [email protected] or drop your GitHub link and profile. We’ll reach out if it’s a potential fit. Let’s go! — Nikhil

Energy isn't the problem anymore. Storing it is. I sat down in Dalian with the CEOs of EnerVenue and HiNa Battery, one building on nickel and water, the other on salt, and asked what I should start if I went home to India tomorrow. A battery company, they said. Not a car company. And don't build anything that needs rare earth. Full episode out soon..
