A disturbing incident took place at a lake. The sister of a young Black girl says a man pulled up his dock ladder while her sibling was trying to climb out of the water. The girl cried out that she could not breathe and begged for help, but the man refused, telling her to go around. According to the sister, two women nearby said “you people shouldn’t be swimming here” while the child was being dragged under by waves from passing boats. Moss and weeds on the dock made it impossible for her to climb out, and she was slipping below the surface gasping for air. The sister also says that the same man had earlier let white children use the ladder but removed it when her Black sister reached for it. She says she pulled her sibling out herself and believes that if she hadn’t acted, her sister would not have survived. This reflects a wider pattern. Black people have long been treated with hostility and exclusion around pools, lakes, and other bodies of water. A Black man went to the hospital after a car accident, complaining of a headache and fearing a concussion. But instead of getting medical help, the nurse mocked him, calling him “Drunky McDrunk Pants” and insisting he was intoxicated, despite his repeated denials. She was rude, dismissive, and called the police, who accused him of being “belligerent.” He eventually took a breathalyzer just to end the harassment and passed. Now he’s preparing to sue the hospital for their misconduct.

Doctors refused to perform CPR on a Black college student who was hit by a car. ⚠️LYNCHING: The bodies of 19-year-old twins Qaadir and Nazir Lewis were found at the top of Bell Mountain after they missed a 7 AM flight to Boston. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is treating their death as a murder/suicide. The teen’s family said that they were not homicidal or suicidal. They did not know the Hiawassee area and had no reason to be there. The family also stated that the twins were non-violent and didn’t have any weapons. None of the details of this event are adding up, and the family is asking for a more extensive investigation.
