I haven’t been online much and am just now seeing this, but I am trusting that the family has handled the situation appropriately. Tyla needs to understand she is not on the level of Beyoncé and never will be. Beyoncé represents a lineage that created the blueprint for modern music and built the very stage Tyla is standing on. Tyla is a one hit wonder trying to measure herself against a global icon, and that is laughable. Without the work and sacrifice of Foundational Black Americans, she would not have a platform or an audience at all. Posting a picture of Beyoncé looking tipsy was not innocent. It was shade. And since it has now been confirmed that this is Tyla’s official X account, that is exactly why this insult had to be addressed directly. The irony is that Tyla had to be carried to a vehicle because she was so drunk. Rumor has it she passed out after seeing how low her album sales were. Any disrespect toward our icons is an attack on the culture itself, and it will always be answered. #FoundationalBlackAmerican #ProtectOurIcons #Beyonce #Tyla #FBAPower #StayInYourLane

Monaleo × Maxo Kream Flat Blackness. Pan-African aesthetics. Anti-Black receipts. Monaleo has built her image around flat Blackness defined by symbolic Pan-African aesthetics. But now we can see what is behind the scenes. Her manager, Toby Oniyitan, also manages Maxo Kream. Maxo, who is of Nigerian descent, has old tweets from 2010 through 2013 showing a long pattern of anti-Black language aimed at Foundational Black Americans. He used the word repeatedly in a way that mocked and disrespected us. That same manager, Toby Oniyitan, has a history of using the same slur in his own posts from 2012. He is Maxo Kream’s cousin and the co-founder of Stomp Down, the label connected to both artists. So when we talk about Monaleo, Maxo Kream, and Toby Oniyitan, we are talking about one management network with a public record of anti-Black commentary.
