This scene is so heartbreaking bc Cherri reaching out while being choked feels symbolic of how people try to help abuse victims, but control and coercion put an impossible distance between them

Al only makes this noise once he’s annoyed. We hear it in when Carmilla dismisses him, so it isn’t Vox-specific. In S2E3 it triggers when he senses Vox, implying Al can feel Vox’s surveillance; Normally he enjoys being watched/feared. It only irritates him when he’s vulnerable.

To be fair, both Alastor and Vox are hypocrites. Like, canonically just a month ago Alastor really thought he was tough enough to take on the leader of the angel exorcist army by himself lmfaoo #hazbinhotelseason2 #HazbinHotelAlastor

Hazbin Guarantee really shows how vile Velvette is. Not only does she profit off women hating their bodies, promotes EDs as a doll who can swap parts, but she knowingly sends girls to abusers, all while hiding behind “empowerment” like irl influencers who sell harm as self love

Angel Dust has this beautiful quality - once he cares for someone, he’ll do anything to keep them safe. The double-edged sword is that he often puts himself directly in harm’s way to do so.

Vox’s whole victory parade is him overcorrecting so hard trying to prove he’s not weak over Alastor’s rejection from 70 yrs ago lmaoo The ‘I WON!’ banner (Val has to correct it), the ‘let ME be the one to tell you’ bit, the ‘ONE smoothie please’ this man’s ego is in shambles 😭

I don’t think “you’re nothing if not predictable” means Alastor knew Vox would win or that everything would play out exactly like this. He’s just insanely good at reading patterns. Alastor doesn’t really do trust or genuine connection, he defaults to analyzing motives & behaviour

I think Valentino’s relationship with food is intentionally off. The “gordísima” aimed at Charlie (who’s objectively thin), the jokes about him skipping meals or only taking one bite, and his visible ribs feel less random and more like a pattern of distorted perception & control

There’s something about Charlie singing about how self‑sacrifice is the key to redemption, and then Angel willingly letting himself go back to his abuser as a way to protect his friends.

Vel calling him out is so funny. It’s ‘oh it was just talking’ until Alastor opens his mouth, then it’s ‘no actually I was DEMANDING.’ Be so for real rn Vox

Valentino exploits this - he’s often shown with that smug smile when Angel ‘acts out’ or tries to be defiant, because he KNOWS Angel will always come back to him. What Angel gives freely, Valentino weaponizes

In ep 2 Vox shows he can literally keep Val in check. Val wants to storm the hotel and Vox just talks him down like it’s nothing. Cool, in control, managing his image. #HazbinHotel #HazbinHotelVox #HazbinHotelValentino

I think that’s why it hurt Angel so much when he realized he was ratting on the hotel because of Vox. He cares so deeply about his friends that the guilt pushed him to go back to the people who abuse him just to keep them safe #HazbinHotel #AngelDust #Vox

It’s gut wrenching that between the psychological/verbal abuse from Vox and the physical/sexual abuse from Val, Angel doesn’t even believe he qualifies as a person anymore. He doesn’t see his choices as ‘his’ like the abuse has worn him down into something meant to be used :/
