It’s taken a long time getting here, but Alhamdolillah I am truly blessed, & can say with my head high, I am a survivor, who learned how to become a blessed thriver. I walked through agonising pain, zero self esteem, constantly out sourcing my happiness, & hiding from situations & people, with a deep unhappiness. Till I found the tools to learn how to parent myself, till I found the way to respect myself,protect myself & love myself. I am responsible for taking care of the child within me & I am responsible for every other child whose healing I can somehow facilitate. Every child matters. Every single child is incredibly significant. Including the child within us, the adults. Healing is possible, the light at the end of the tunnel is real. It’s ok to feel the fear, & move towards it. At our own pace. It’s ok to feel sad & own our fears. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed. It’s ok to stop & just breathe. Because that’s the most important thing I do anyway. Breathe. The one thing I can’t live without for more than a few minutes, if even that. It took me time to find my beautiful tribes. All of them. Especially the tribe that shatters the shame with me. The tribe that says it out loud it’s #notmyshame. It never was. Thank you INCREDIBLE Emma-Jane Taylor (E-J) 🇬🇧 for starting this empowering movement. I LOVE MY T SHIRT! I want to share my heart with you. I’ve been working for the children of Pakistan since I was 17. Im 50 years old today. I’ve buried kids as small as 6 months, I’ve held babies whose mothers tried to cut their heads off and bury them, and they survived. I’ve seen kids brought in off the streets shaking with ice and heroin addiction. I’ve seen thousands of kids broken limbed, wounded, raped, because they were tiny labourers in homes. My own sim was a bonded slave at a brick kiln at the the age of 4. Today he is nearly an engineer. Shukar Alhamdolillah. If your family falls into poverty, will you send your 10 year old to work in some strangers home? Depriving your child of the right to learn and more importantly the right to be safe. No. You will not. So why insult the average poor parent of Pakistan.? They work! They work in fields! In factories! In homes. Single mothers. Widows. Sweat all day and educate their children. I SALUTE THEM! So remember those parents who send their children into forced Labour, exposing them to injury, are parents that need the support of the state. And the State of Punjab IS PROVIDING THAT SUPPORT. We have 9 working shelters and 25 in the making. ALL of them have hostels, schools, health care, mental health care and career counselling for the children. Work is happening. We all wish there was more, but it’s amazing work and we need to support it and encourage it. These bureaus should be all over Pakistan! They support children who need support and make sure kids are not being used by parents. Parents also need to learn two things, first being family planning and the second is, they cannot have children with the sole intent to send them off to work. Because you will Be surprised, that is what many many people see children, even their own children as…. A way of making money. Do not encourage or support that culture. My second foster boys own biological mother turned down a house, money, all bills paid, because she makes so much off her surviving kids begging. She burned my boys legs and you give. He is still getting speech therapy. The bureau also has its own court system to prosecute criminal parents. I have seen kids whose mothers flushed them down the toilet, abandoned them on trash heaps, or left the rented house, leaving the crying children behind, because the new husband didn’t want them. All these kids are my kids. They Are the bureaus kids, are Sarah Ahmad (T.I.) kids. But most of all they are Pakistans kids. And each and every one of us is Pakistan. I ask you to help us in this cause. And trust in our work. Trust in me when I say child domestic labour is evil. Trust me when i say we can and should fight for a Pakistan where EVERY child is in school. That day is coming. InshaAllah. In the meantime please I BEG OF YOU, pray for Rizwana. And pray that awful evil woman, does not escape justice! I have not been able to sleep a wink knowing she is roaming the earth free to attempt to murder another child with barbaric torture, while this child is fighting for every breath with a broken body and an even more broken spirit. Please pray she survives. I then pledge to making sure she thrives. InshaAllah

My sons. Sabir was 4 when I removed him from a brick kiln. He was an orphaned bonded slave. Today he is a handsome 19 year old & nearly a mechanical engineer. Drives me around ok his bike now! He is also a motivational speaker, talking to people about the perils of children working in bonded slavery. My sweetest, most patient and down to earth boy. MASHAALLAH 🧿❤️ Azaad was 6 when Kumail, the gentleman in the first picture found him sleeping behind a freezer and bought him to me. His mother had burned his legs and tongue and was living with a man who forced him to beg. Today he is studying to someday join the army, soon he will be learning how to be a hair stylist from Toni and Guy. He has regular speech therapy and is Alhamdolillah speaking clearly now. My most mischievous and spirited boy. MASHAALLAH ❤️🙏🏼 Don’t ask me what you can do for a child. It’s not rocket science. Take responsibility, take ownership, think things through. Just do it if you can see the commitment through. The children CANNOT and should not be re abandoned again. They have been through enough. So if you cannot commit, be honest with yourself and do what you CAN HONESTLY do. Fund an education, a tutor, a helper for an orphanage. I have 300 orphaned boys who want remote control cars and water pistols! If anyone wants to donate towards these please get however many you want. My 76 year old mother is trapped in the house… again. I’m regretting the fact that I stayed with my best friend last night. We were celebrating my sons birthday and I crashed there. Now I can’t get to my mother. And she can’t get out. In another hour, if the rains continue, this will all be in the house! My mother is a heart patient. My brother had to walk chest deep in water to pick up milk 4 the children in the staff quarters & Ami. This is RIDICULOUS! This is SEWERAGE water as we live off the Ganda Nala. It’s highly toxic! I promised you a little surprise. The bureau is a very sacred space for me. I do not let every one meet the children this way. I do not trust every one with them. But I knew this would warm your hearts. The children warm my heart every single time. It’s my little brother WAHAJ ALI spreading love in the amazing, down to earth way he does, with his even more amazing, loving family, at my home away from home, the Lahore Child Protection Bureau. This is why this is special. When WAHAJ ALI comes to visit the children at the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau ,he spends hours with his family in every room. He makes sure each baby has been held,he asks detailed questions about each child & each babies health & future. Both Sana & him are 100 % present for the entire day when they visit.Even little Amira is totally invested,concerned & present. Like my Nuri is. This is truly one of the most beautiful wholesome families on Earth. Its a joy & privilege 2b a part of their life. Wahaj talked to the younger boys about the importance of Self respect & respecting others. They hung on to his every world. He encouraged the boys 2 handle conflict w love,respect & most of all w knowledge (taleem/hunar). He inspired the older boys & made every child,boy or girl feel special.Most celebrities take a few pictures and run off,but not Wahaj. Hes not phased by how many children there are,or by heat or humid weather. And you can feel the sincerity in their interaction. After spending the whole day at the bureau we went to visit Rizwana,Where Wahaj & his family continued to spread smiles & share gifts. Rizwana’s smile was HUMUNGOUS & she was still smiling when I went to visit her today. Alhamdolillah Thank you WAHAJ ALI for the joy you spread & how wholeheartedly you spread it. One of my favourite quotes in the world is by Tagore … A message,for all of us,lies at its core. “I slept & dreamt that life was joy. I awoke & saw that life was duty. I worked & behold, duty was joy.” If you are ready to tell stories to my kids at the bureau or give motivational talks, email me. From Lahore. With Love… from Abu and me. It’s 08/05/2025 The rain has washed Lahore to her lush green best. Birds are singing. Children are laughing & playing, blissfully unaware. The elders peacefully fold their prayer mats & prepare for lunch. Alhamdolillah We can hear the odd blast in the back ground and we wonder what will happen. Hearts are full of prayers for the mothers & fathers of the babies martyred last night. And pray for peace in the hearts of all the bitter, hate filled souls, abusing, & falling prey to political manipulations. To Allahs Will we surrender, for Allah has the best plan, whatever it is. To the reason & good sense in the hearts of our sisters & brothers we appeal. Karak chai is on the stove. Zuhur time. Praying for peace, for better sense & for those who are casualties on the front line. And wanting the world to know… we are at peace. Alhamdolillah Shukar Alhamdolillah We know that NO security was there to protect the tourists in Pahalgam, in a land where there are security checks every few meters. We know we asked for a transparent international enquiry. We know we wanted better sense to prevail. We commiserated from the heart for those martyred, across the border, as we do today for our own. We know the pain terrorism can cause. And we know we have worked hard to be free of it. We know elections are around the corner for a certain leader. We are no stranger to the games of power hungry politicians & players. We know our flaws & our strengths. We know our Truth. We speak it with courage. We also know there are sane voices amongst the bitter ones, on both sides. Let them be heard. Let us protect each others right to dignity, peace & a prosperity. The alternative option is generations of pain & ruin, across both sides. Enough generational trauma.
