January 20, 1998 The then Minister of Internal Security and current Ambassador of Rwanda to Indonesia, Abdul K. Harelimana, visited the crime scene where ALiR/FDLR killed BRALIRWA staff, most of whom were burned inside the bus the previous day. On January 19, 1998, a group of 74 BRALIRWA employees were on a company bus heading to work for the morning shift, which started at 7:00 a.m. Twenty-five people were killed on the spot, while 10 of the 35 seriously wounded later died at Gisenyi Hospital. According to former FDLR combatants, this crime was committed by ALiR/FDLR under the command of then-Maj. Pacifique Ntawunguka, the current FDLR Chief of Staff, as Nyamyumba Commune was under his area of operations.

The faces we carry in our hearts. They were not numbers. They were mothers, fathers, children, friends. They had names, dreams, laughter, and love. This video (just 11 minutes long) can never be enough. It is only a fragment of lives stolen during the Genocide against the Tutsi. If each victim were given only one second, it would take more than 283 hours to see them all. Today, we remember. We mourn. We honor. And above all, we refuse to let them be forgotten. #Kwibuka32

CNDD-FDD Secretary General Révérien Ndikuriyo questioned the legitimacy and authority of the RPF Secretary General. He still hopes that once the current government in Kigali ceases to exist, the Banyamulenge would face serious problems. What kind of leaders did Mandela impose on Burundi? A South African political analyst once said that Mandela’s major mistake on Burundi was trying to resolve Burundi’s crisis through the lens of how apartheid was resolved in South Africa. The two situations were not the same.

The faces of the loved ones we lost in the Genocide against the Tutsi. Each victim has a face and a name. This 11-minute video is a small glimpse into the millions of moments and memories erased. If each victim were given just one second on screen, it would take over 283 hours to see them all. Thank you, Loic, for honoring them through this powerful tribute. #Kwibuka31

13 July 1994 French TV2 FRANCE2 crew (Amar Paul, Vincent Maillard, and Eric Monnier) found RPA soldiers on the Ruhengeri–Gisenyi road. These soldiers were from the Bravo Mobile Force. One of the commanders, Charles Kayonga, said in the interview that he hoped French soldiers would leave the Opération Turquoise zone and let the RPA pursue the killers of the people. Note that towards the end of June 1994, Afande Charles Kayonga and Jacob Tumwiine left 3Bn and joined Bravo to defeat the enemy at Mount Jari and continue the north-western front until the genocidal forces were ousted from Rwanda. 3Bn remained under the command of Afande Kwikiriza. The same journalists also interviewed the Lt. Col. Tharcisse Renzaho, (genocide convict who was Mayor of Kigali during the genocide) who said that leaving Kigali for the FAR was a tactical withdrawal and that they would retake Kigali as soon as possible. It has now been 32 years. That tactic shifted to the internet by promoting propaganda and denying the Genocide against the Tutsi; the mission is now being inherited by their descendants as they age.

Two years ago, on this very day, President Tshisekedi was declared the "elected President" of the DRC for a second term. During his campaign, he promised to open fire on Rwanda, claiming that he did not need foot soldiers and that from Goma he was capable of striking Kigali. Thirty days later, on 20 January 2024, he was sworn in. President Ndayishimiye was among the invited heads of state and received loud cheers when he arrived at the stadium, as the MC introduced him as a “friend” who helps fight their enemy. The following day, Ndayishimiye met with Congolese youth and pledged to help Rwandan youth remove President Kagame. Many people tend to focus only on Ndayishimiye’s response. But who asked the question? Yesterday, during the 17th RPF Congress, Chairman and President Kagame stated that in geopolitical conflicts, the first casualty is the truth. The person who asked the question to President Ndayishimiye is Mbitsemunda Habyarimana Jean Claude, who later changed his name to Jules Mulumba. He is the Secretary General and spokesperson of the CMC Nyatura armed group, a member of the Wazalendo coalition. CMC Nyatura, composed of young Congolese Hutu extremists, was initiated and created by former FDLR commander Lt. Gen. Sylvestre Mudacumura as an FDLR proxy—Congolese in appearance but sharing the same ideology. In summary, CMC Nyatura is the youth wing of the FDLR. Jules Mulumba is well known for his hate speech against Congolese Tutsi and those he labels as “Hima” in the region. In his question to President Ndayishimiye, he falsely claimed that Rwanda had killed four presidents: President Habyarimana, President Ntaryamira, Congolese President Laurent-Désiré Kabila, and Burundi’s President Melchior Ndadaye, who was assassinated in 1993. When such actors speak of “Rwanda,” they are in fact targeting President Kagame. In his response, President Ndayishimiye endorsed Mulumba’s narrative by failing to correct the false facts, lies, and manipulation. Instead, he declared that the “revolution” should continue and that Rwandan youth must be “liberated.” Two years later, in a video circulating on social media, President Ndayishimiye was heard during an end-of-year gathering with his officers playing the victimhood card, claiming that he was being targeted by a country from the north. Presidents Ndayishimiye and Tshisekedi have something in common: both readily declare war and issue threats they cannot sustain. When confronted with reality and defeat, they abandon belligerence and retreat into victimhood, portraying themselves as targets rather than accountable actors

Resilience of Rwandans in video: The 1959 exile under Belgian brutality 1) In 1959, Tutsi were forcibly displaced by Belgian colonial authorities. At the time, land and cattle were their primary sources of wealth, but they were driven out, leaving everything behind. They arrived in neighboring countries with nothing but empty hands. What may look like a bustling market in the video is, in fact, a gathering of Rwandan refugees waiting for food ration which was known as posho, provided by the International Red Cross.

When the legendary Cecile Kayirebwa was a student at the girls’ school ENDP Karubanda which is located just a few hundred meters from Queen Gicanda’s small house, she was one of the Queen’s regular visitors. Her popular song Inyange Muhorakeye was dedicated to Queen Gicanda. A historian once told me that some of the lyrics in Inyange Muhorakeye are in fact original, tender words spoken by King Mutara III Rudahigwa to his beloved Queen, such as: "Ninjye ubarusha kirezi Ureba ugatemba imbabazi Nimumurebe Arasa n'isimbi Mwebwe mwamuturande Ko ari irembo ryiza Rimwe ritaha inyamibwa" The devoted Catholic Queen Gicanda is remembered on Easter, the day of Jesus’ resurrection. #Kwibuka31
