Russia's Defense Ministry recruited just over 8,000 drone operators for its Unmanned Systems Forces in the first half of the year, despite an annual target of 78,800. Analysts calculated that recruitment should have reached about 34,400 by then, leaving the ministry at roughly a quarter of its planned pace. Russia is increasingly deploying jet-powered drones with characteristics approaching those of cruise missiles, Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said.
