David Cameron on the Labour government’s inheritance tax on family farms: “What a stupid thing to do. Most farms don't make a profit, the asset is the farm, land and buildings. If you tax that when one member of the family dies, it will leave the family.”

“Cows have a digestion system that emits methane. We need to change cows and work towards artificial meat.” ~ Bill Gates He doesn’t mention that methane from cows breaks down into CO2 & water after 10 years. Grass absorbs the CO2 by photosynthesis & the cycle continues.

More and more farmers and local farm shops are using social media to sell their food. Supermarkets pay them pittance for their food and a vindictive government punishes them. So they are taking the matter into their own hands and trying to sell direct via social media.

Keir Starmer doubles down and rules out any changes to inheritance tax for farmers & says that farmers who have to pay 'can pay over a number of years' and that he needs to prioritise the NHS and schools. On so many levels, his comments are disingenuous.

A really important message from Welsh farmer Gareth Wyn Jones | Gareth Wyn Jones. “The real asset is the land. If Keir Starmer and the new Labour government put inheritance tax on that, you will see farms being sold. They are not going to be able to carry on.”

Keir Starmer abandoned his visit to Buckinghamshire to promote housing plans due to a farmers protest. He has now disingenuously doubled down on the inheritance tax on family farms. “Would people prefer NHS waiting lists to come down, lower interest rates, mortgages to come down OR tax breaks for farmers? We know what they would prefer. It’s a choice.”

Please listen to these powerful words from Welsh farmer Gareth Wyn Jones. Small businesses (including farmers) are a beating heart of the British economy. Governments should be supporting them rather than inflicting taxes that contribute towards to destroying them. #Budget2024
