Salim Lagzhaoui (19) 🇳🇴🇲🇦• Record breaker💰 (A thread🧵) • With the signing of Salim Lagzhaoui commading a a fee of 1,27 million euros, the young playmaker smashes Fredrikstad`s previous transfer record. 1,27 millon is a lot of money for a club like Fredrikstad, with a few eyebrows being raised amongst the fanbase. Since the middle of June this year Lagzhaoui has been almost unplayable in the 2nd tier of Norwegian football, with 6 goals and 3 assits in his last 12 league games. • During the 2025 campaign, its evident to see the extreme development Lagzhaoui has shown in his overall game. His awarness, his positioning and calmness on the pitch have all improved massivily which is reflected on his output on the pitch. • Lagzhaoui has been deployed as the right central midfield in a midfield 3. The role he was deployed in at Lyn was not static and locked, as in mulitple instances he takes on a more advaned central role when Lyn are in the attacking 3rd of the pitch. This can be seen in in the video below, where his goals and assists from the 2025 camapaign is highlighted. • The Moroccoan U20 international will likley take his place in the Fredrikstad starting XI straight away, with a place in the midfield 3 in Andreas Hagen`s system the most likley destination. With the depatures of Emil holten, the imminent depature of Daniel Eid and the signing of forward signing of Johannes nunes might speak of a tactical change formationwise which could see Lagzhaoui moved further forward in a number 10 role. • Either side of the tactical spectrum, the young playmaker will not be tied to a static role, but will be given the freedom to roam and unleah his creativity. After doing research to being able to write this small piece, what impressed me the most with his abilites was his overview and awareness on the pitch. His ability to be in the right place at the right time to be able to either recive the ball and carry it forward or shoot is something not seen often at this level of the games. • A player having these types of abilites, is something the Fredrikstad squad deeply misses. The lack of a a playmaker has been the main issue throughout the season, since cult hero Morten Bjørlo departed the club in February. While the two players are vastly different in terms of roles and playstile, they share some very important qualites. They both posesses exeptional awareness and overview of the pitch. • As mentioned previously, Lagzhaoui is a Moroccoan under 20 international. The young playmaker earned his first call up as a youth international. Salim will join up with his Moroccoan teammates as they face USA U20 Friday the 5th ans joins the Fredrikstad squad permanently after that.
