undoubtedly one of my favourites sequences in the show ever. just a phenomenal piece of filmmaking for a tv series, achieving the perfect levels of camp - the purposeful, tongue-in-cheek exaggeration that is nevertheless completely genuine, art within art.

the idea of sam very seriously analysing internet memes/terminology is impossibly endearing to me. he would hear the phrase ‘old man yells at cloud’ and go ‘gosh he sounds really upset, is everything ok in his life ? the world is so bleak, does he have anyone he can talk to ? ☹️’

jacob talking about his accent work & specifically modelling his dubai speech patterns on james baldwin (!!!!!), using accent as a proxy for how louis obscures parts of himself only for the nola accent to return as does ‘real’ louis, oh dear lord this is a direct hit to the chest
