Film/tv/music/books/memories & occasionally some really good humor in hopefully a knowledgable/witty/classy/respectful perspective . . . with some wild tangents

One of the greatest pool scenes, fantasies, dream sequences, whatever you want to call it, it definitely very hot scene . . . Phoebe Cates character climbs out of a pool and takes her bikini top off professing her crush Judge Reinhold character in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Jacob’s Ladder with Tim Robbins is beyond surreal A huge unsuspecting plot twist that you can't see coming which you learn at the very end of the film (no spoilers) but this film is very dark and twisted at throughout it’s one that haunts your mind for years later . . . or for me decades later.

Emir Han The sketching scene of Gwyneth Paltrow by Ethan Hawke in the film Great Expectations with Finn drawing his muse Estella . . . Gwyneth looked beyond incredible especially in the ‘90’s and especially especially in this film and this scene (so to speak).

flynn slicker Arlington Road . . . The ending will blow you away (so to speak) both Tim Robbins and Jeff Bridges show their range as great actors and the movie is extremely suspense driven to this non-Hollywood Ending. Great movie especially for conspiracy theorists.

cinesthetic. Tangent as it’s a language translation but I wish more films used transitions like this scene from The Hunt For Red October where they transitioned a Russian nuclear weasel (a Star Trek/Scotty joke) where they spoke Russian with subtitles . . . to English

I personally love the plot twist and the ending for Alex Garland’s directorial debut in Ex Machina with Alicia Vikander, Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson . . . everything about this film from the music selection to the cinematography to the acting and directing was perfect in my opinion. Tangent but respectfully I haven’t found Alex’s other work as great or even close to the level of this film but this is definitely one of my favorite films of 2014.
