Today, the #RFS 737 Large Air Tanker has assisted firefighters working to contain a fire burning to the west of Thunderbolts Way in Bretti. The 'Marie Bashir' was used to great effect, dropping retardant to slow the spread of the fire which has burnt more than 315 hectares.

It's not often our crews have to drive through conditions like this to reach a fire, but yesterdays lightning storm caused several fires around NSW. Each year fires are started due to lightning and we are reminding residents to report any unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).
