UPDATE: Police in Mbarara City have confirmed the death of 55-year-old businessman Fred Tumusiime after a fire gutted his electronics shop on Garage Street. #NTVNews Rwizi Region Police spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira said Tumusiime was inside the shop when the fire broke out and was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning.

An unidentified woman in Ngogwe Town was forced to release a minor whom she had tied with ropes to an electric pole, accusing him of stealing from her on several occasions. The woman said the minor, who resides in a nearby village, would often sneak into her shop and steal cash as well as items such as bread. After allegedly apprehending him red-handed on June 26, she decided to discipline the minor. However, a group of journalists who were on their way to Kiyindi unexpectedly spotted the incident by the roadside and stopped to intervene, rescuing the child. #NTVNews
