Mayor Zohran Mamdani visited NYCEM Watch Command to thank the people who never stop watching over our city. Our Watch Commanders, Public Warning Specialists, and Citywide Interagency Coordinators work around the clock through holidays, storms, and quiet nights monitoring threats, coordinating responses, and making split-second decisions that save lives. They're the first to know when something's wrong and the last to leave when the crisis ends. They don't always get the spotlight, but they're the backbone of every critical emergency response, every warning that reaches your phone, every coordinated effort that keeps New Yorkers safe. Every alert issued, every resource coordinated, every agency connected is part of a larger promise of shared safety for every New Yorker.
