28 years ago, a Derecho raced across our area killing 4 people and injuring 62. Four tornadoes occured, including an F2 tornado in Lynbrook, New York, that caused 6 injuries and $1 million in damage. Back in 1998, NWS did not have storm based warnings yet so every warning was the size of its County.

We watched a jaw-dropping supercell last night in Texas, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of awe-inspiring. We set up our cameras and managed to capture an amazing time-lapse of the storm, complete with an electrifying display of lightning. The power and beauty of mother nature left me speechless. Watching the storm unfold in front of us, with the sky lighting up and the clouds swirling, was an unforgettable sight. Moments like these remind me why I love storm chasing so much.
