Earlier today, Carson Benge robbed Jung Hoo Lee of a hit with a great diving catch in right-center field. Howie Rose was quick to point out the similarity between Benge’s catch and the one made by Ron Swoboda in the 1969 World Series.

9/8/2015 The Mets score six two-out runs to overcome a 7-1 deficit in the seventh. The following inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis hits a pinch-hit home run to put New York ahead. Jeurys Familia secures the victory with a double play with the tying and winning runs on base.

5/19/2010 Ángel Pagán becomes the first player since Ted Kazanski in 1955 to hit an inside-the-park home run and initiate a triple play in the same game.

7/28/2024 The Mets receive Jesse Winker in a trade with the Nationals. During the 2024 postseason, Winker slashed .318/.531/.636 with a homer, four RBI, and a 1.168 OPS.

6/12/2024 Grimace throws out the first pitch at Citi Field. After the pitch, the Mets, who were 28-37, went 61-36 to close the regular season and advanced to the NLCS for the first time since 2015.

8/21/2024 Jesse Winker leads off the bottom of the ninth with a walk-off home run. The victory marks the second time in three games in which New York beats Baltimore on a walk-off homer.

Earlier today, after the Mets beat the Braves, Keith Raad paid tribute to a memorable Bob Murphy call from 1990 by exclaiming "the Mets win the damn thing 10-9!" In each game, New York took a 10-3 lead into the ninth and secured the victory with the tying run on third base.

6/4/2006 With the Mets down a run in the tenth, Lastings Milledge ties the game with a home run off Armando Benítez. Milledge then high-fives fans down the right-field line on his way out to his position.

7/9/2022 On the day they retire 11-time Gold Glove Award winner Keith Hernandez’s number, the Mets take advantage of back-to-back misplays to beat Miami in extra innings.

7/25/2024 Ramón Laureano overruns a Jeff McNeil fly ball to allow the winning run to score.

One year ago today, Pete Alonso hit the “fairytale swing of his career” to help lead the Mets to the NLDS. After the celebration while on the plane, the Mets played Howie Rose’s legendary call to Pete and the rest of the team.

8/30/2015 The Mets acquire Addison Reed from the Diamondbacks for two minor leaguers. Reed had a 1.17 ERA in 17 appearances with New York to close out 2015. As a Met, Reed pitched in the most games (145) and had the third-lowest ERA (2.09) among National League relievers.
