The NYPD is crushing it when it comes to taking illegal mopeds and scooters off our streets. So far this year, the NYPD has seized over 5,700 of these dangerous, illegal vehicles — and we are not letting up.

🚨WANTED for ASSAULT: On 6/18/23 the suspect slashed two women on the leg, in two separate incidents. First at 4:14 PM at the 86 St/Lexington Ave subway station, then at 4:32 PM on a '4" train near Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall station. Any info? DM NYPD Crime Stoppers, or call 800-577-TIPS.

WANTED FOR ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER: On 4/4/26 at 8:00 PM, near Wallabout St. and Broadway, a white Infiniti Q50 drove forward into two police vehicles and reversed into an officer, causing leg injuries. Anyone with information is asked to DM NYPD Crime Stoppers or call 800-577-TIPS.

On Memorial Day, we honor the NYPD heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. In March, Police Officer Sorrfly Davius died in Kuwait while serving with the National Guard. We will never forget him and all those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

After the Knicks game on Saturday night, our officers spotted a man with a gun in a large crowd in Times Square. They quickly tracked him down and recovered a loaded gun that was in his waistband. This is how the NYPD showed up on Saturday night to keep people safe.

Whether on foot or on hooves, our officers are always ready. After someone stole a purse near West 72nd Street, our Mounted officer &amp; his horse, Kelly, kept on her trail. Galloping down the street &amp; with the help of a witness, they recovered the purse &amp; apprehended the suspect.

Police Officer Casey Kloepfer was just four years old on September 11th, 2001. His father, Police Officer Ronald Kloepfer, died while responding to the World Trade Center. Casey graduated from the Police Academy in June, keeping his father’s legacy in the NYPD alive.

September 11, 2001, marked one of our nation’s darkest days. Few responded as bravely as New York City’s first responders. That day, the FDNY lost 343, Port Authority of NY & NJ lost 37, NYPD lost 23, and many others continue to suffer from illnesses related to 9/11. We will #NeverForget.

Meet K9 Twinkie and her handler, Detective James Lilla! Twinkie is not your average pup. She is highly skilled in electronic detection, helping the NYPD fight cybercrime.

Eagle-eyed cops to the rescue. While patrolling the Hudson River earlier this morning, our Harbor Unit officers spotted an injured bald eagle floating on the ice and calling out for help. They acted quickly and brought the bird to safety.

New York City gave this department an extraordinary test this year, and our cops answered it with historic results. They delivered the fewest shooting incidents, shooting victims, and murders in recorded history for the first nine months of the year.

A young life saved by the NYPD. On Saturday, 44th Precinct officers were flagged to help a choking child. They quickly began life-saving measures to clear the child's airway. Within seconds, the child was breathing again and safely brought to a hospital for evaluation.
