The NYPD is crushing it when it comes to taking illegal mopeds and scooters off our streets. So far this year, the NYPD has seized over 5,700 of these dangerous, illegal vehicles — and we are not letting up.

On Memorial Day, we honor the NYPD heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. In March, Police Officer Sorrfly Davius died in Kuwait while serving with the National Guard. We will never forget him and all those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

🚨WANTED for ASSAULT: On 6/18/23 the suspect slashed two women on the leg, in two separate incidents. First at 4:14 PM at the 86 St/Lexington Ave subway station, then at 4:32 PM on a '4" train near Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall station. Any info? DM NYPD Crime Stoppers, or call 800-577-TIPS.

WANTED FOR ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER: On 4/4/26 at 8:00 PM, near Wallabout St. and Broadway, a white Infiniti Q50 drove forward into two police vehicles and reversed into an officer, causing leg injuries. Anyone with information is asked to DM NYPD Crime Stoppers or call 800-577-TIPS.

The NYPD protects and serves all New Yorkers, even those with beaks! On Saturday, officers helped save 11 ducklings from a storm drain at the Police Academy. All baby ducks were reunited with their mother. Job well done by our crew at the Academy!

This is how modern policing works! When police responded to shots fired in the Bronx, they were looking for three suspects. NYPD drones were deployed to help locate them. Our officers on the ground made the arrests and recovered two guns.

Heroism and heart from NY's Finest. When a woman was seated on the ledge of a high-rise building in Brooklyn, our officers quickly responded, using their training to save her life. This is what it takes to protect and serve.

Eagle-eyed cops to the rescue. While patrolling the Hudson River earlier this morning, our Harbor Unit officers spotted an injured bald eagle floating on the ice and calling out for help. They acted quickly and brought the bird to safety.

September 11, 2001, marked one of our nation’s darkest days. Few responded as bravely as New York City’s first responders. That day, the FDNY lost 343, Port Authority of NY & NJ lost 37, NYPD lost 23, and many others continue to suffer from illnesses related to 9/11. We will #NeverForget.

Earlier this evening, members of our Scuba Team, Aviation Unit, Emergency Service Unit, and the FDNY rescued three individuals from frozen waters in Far Rockaway. No matter the conditions, our officers are always ready to answer the call.

Last night, we stood shoulder to shoulder for the dignified transfer of Police Officer Didarul Islam. A husband, a father, a son. He leaves behind a city in grief. Officer Islam died as he lived: a hero.

Congratulations to our newest Emergency Service Unit K9 graduates! These K9s and their handlers went through rigorous training to protect our city. Each dog is named after a member we lost in the line of duty, including on 9/11. We will never forget their service.

Last week, a teen was killed while subway surfing on the Williamsburg Bridge. The NYPD has dedicated resources to stop these tragedies, but we also need the help of New Yorkers. If you see someone subway surfing, call 911. Ride inside. Stay alive.

Meet Detective Bonlei Wong and Officer William Wong! Like many siblings, one inspires the other. William says his older sister encouraged him to join the NYPD to serve their community. This #AAPIMonth, we thank them for working together to protect our city.

Today, Jessica S. Tisch and Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the indictment of 15 gang members known for terrorizing a Brooklyn community with gun violence. Thanks to the tireless work of our detectives and law enforcement partners, these individuals are now off our streets.

Last night, officers from NYPD 43rd Precinct pulled over a driver for running a stop sign. They noticed a rifle in the vehicle and arrested the occupants. Another day of incredible work by our members. Another gun off our streets.
