While Edwin Sifuna enjoys the music on the way to Kitale for the mega rally, former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza appears to be struggling in another vehicle because of her dress. I have seen Pauline Njoroge and former LSK President Faith Odhiambo adapt to the political campaign scene by dressing comfortably. Maybe they should offer Kawira a few lessons.

Speaking on Alex Mwakideu's YouTube channel, Lang'ata MP Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalang'o, has urged people who do not support his political ambition to stay away from his meetings. Jalang'o has warned that those who attend his meetings to chant against him will be beaten. He has also told Mwakideu that he pays people to attend some of his meetings and, at times, ferries them to the venues.

CS Geoffrey Ruku has told Hot 96 that all the goodies distributed in Ol Kalou during the just-concluded by-election cost roughly KSh 100 million. Ruku further adds that the money was not directly from the Exchequer but from UDA's account. Ruku, in his wisdom, says UDA funded the distribution of thousands of 6-kilogram LPG cooking gas cylinders and mattresses, two motorized fishing boats valued at KSh 5 million, and 20,000 fish fingerlings to promote aquaculture. CS Ruku further suggests UDA financed the revival of the Nairobi to Nyahururu railway line; the construction of the 37-kilometer Ithangani to Ngorika to Kanyiriri road; upgrades at Ol Kalou Market, including translucent roofing for vending zones; as well as the distribution of cash handouts, water pipes, electricity poles, and food donations.

Buana, Edwin Sifuna has started speaking like someone who is going for this presidency thing, bana. In this clip, Sifuna says boda boda operators in Bungoma County have hung up his paybill fundraiser somewhere, and he has promised to refund them the money by doing away with the housing levy so that the money goes back to their pockets.

Folks, NTV is not done yet with the Lord's work regarding the Ol Kalou by-election. The Kimathi Street-based media house has exposed a senior government official who works at the Communications Authority of Kenya. Charles Kamau Karondo, also a certified mediator, was captured on camera dishing out money to Ol Kalou voters. Here in the village, we are left wondering why Charles could not mediate that election for UDA's candidate to win. Villagers here are also asking if IEBC has seen that story by NTV.

This was captured yesterday in Githurai. Not insinuating anything, but there is a high likelihood this is a police officer or someone affiliated with the security sector conducting intelligence gathering. From the videos and photos circulating online, it is evident the state used covert methods to suppress the protests. In areas like Githurai, we saw police officers dressed in jua kali clothing and boda boda reflectors, while others wore masks. Interesting times to live in Kenya.

Why would a police officer dress like this if their intentions were lawful?

NTV has aired an exposé on the recent Ol Kalou by-election, revealing the faces of men alleged to have been part of the group that harassed residents. Ironically, the same men are said to have been part of UDA's campaign team, whose candidate lost the by-election. While the DCI has promised to investigate the matter, perhaps this should be its first step. Villagers in Ol Kalou are waiting to see whether DCI officers will investigate the same men who were dishing out money, sponsoring football tournaments, and overseeing the distribution of gas cylinders, among other items, as part of the government's campaign to persuade residents to vote for the UDA candidate, who went on to lose by a landslide.

Buana, things are getting hot in Bungoma. Edwin Sifuna has announced that Didmus Barasa will address the mourners last. Seemingly, the decision is meant to prevent Barasa from leaving the burial with people Sifuna claims were paid to attend and chant for one term. What do you call this in simple English?

Speaking on Spice FM, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has said he is not convinced by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's political rise, describing it as something that could prove temporary. Wajackoyah has said the many Linda Mwananchi rallies held across the country have not excited him, arguing that Kenya needs politics driven by issues rather than crowds. He has also taken issue with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, saying he was disappointed by remarks that portrayed the Luhya community as watchmen. Wajackoyah has further questioned the direction of Natembeya's Tawe Movement, saying it has appeared to be losing momentum.

I have listened to Wafula Buke speak and perhaps this is what is being discussed in low tones in academic circles about President Ruto's government. Buke argues that President Ruto's government is shaping education to produce citizens who do not question power. He claims history is being pushed aside, literature is being stripped of ideas that inspire critical thinking, and learning is being directed toward preserving the status quo instead of producing citizens who interrogate authority. He links this to what he says happened during the Moi era, when political science gave way to government, arguing that the goal was to teach students about the state rather than equip them to analyze politics.

Governor Irungu Kang'ata says residents of Mt. Kenya region are uncomfortable with President William Ruto's government due to what they describe as the political persecution of their leaders. He says residents were unhappy with the treatment of Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, and the attack at Witima Church where Rigathi Gachagua was present, saying these incidents pushed the community to distance itself from Ruto.

Edwin Sifuna says most Members of Parliament have told him they will join Linda Mwananchi later because they fear President Ruto will withhold development projects in their constituencies. Sifuna says the MPs told him they are waiting for most of the projects to be completed before they switch.
