President Ruto orders the Makueni County Commissioner to find land for the construction of a KMTC in the area by next week. “Tafuta shamba. Ikikosekana shamba ya serikali, mtafute shamba, nita nunua na pesa yangu tuweke KMTC ya watu wa Makueni.” Under what law is the President allowed to use his own money to purchase land for the establishment of a public institution? Jameni.

Citizen TV reports that excavators have stopped digging at the site of the Eastleigh building collapse to allow experts to consult on how best to rescue those trapped. A relative of one of those trapped says her family member told her at 4 PM that the more the excavators dig, the more debris falls. The trapped victims, who remain in the basement, are reportedly struggling to breathe as the debris continues to fall.

This is becoming interesting. Uhuru Kenyatta calls Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina back to the stage to repeat an announcement she made on opposition unity. Njeri says opposition leaders must meet and agree on who will face William Ruto in next year’s election. She also cautions that any candidate who refuses to support the one chosen will be labelled a mole. For those who understand Kikuyu, what is Uhuru saying after Njeri’s remarks?

Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru is on Citizen TV, saying she is certain the opposition will settle on Kalonzo Musyoka to face President William Ruto in next year’s elections. Waiguru argues that Edwin Sifuna is too naive to be elected president and that Ruto has more political muscle than the Nairobi senator. The Kirinyaga governor also says Kalonzo Musyoka will not accept a deputy president position under Sifuna.

At Martha Karua’s dad’s burial service, Uganda’s Dr. Miria R. K. Matembe is surprised that Kenya has a former president who is alive. Dr. Matembe says they have not experienced the same in Uganda, where President Yoweri Museveni has been in leadership for over 20 years. She wishes Uganda would experience the same.

Edwin Sifuna says he has kept the basket containing money contributed by Kenyans across the country to fund his campaign and will carry it with him to State House. Sifuna dismisses President Ruto’s remarks, alleging that he is using the contributions to buy "pombe ya majina mbili mbili."

Health CS Aden Duale has stepped in to apologize following the exchange between SHA CEO Dr. Nancy Mwangangi and journalists at the Media Town Hall on Kenya’s health sector. Dr. Mwangangi had told a journalist to ask intelligent questions, a remark that did not sit well with journalists in the room.

You people should watch #JKLive. It is getting hot to a point where Jeff Koinange has used that BS word on Ndindi Nyoro. Nyoro says he is ready to run for president and has dropped that "in three months" phrase that politicians always use. Buana, Jeff has told him he is just like the other monkeys in the same forest. Whatever they gave Jeff during that break he took needs to be studied. Khabusie.

This was captured yesterday in Githurai. Not insinuating anything, but there is a high likelihood this is a police officer or someone affiliated with the security sector conducting intelligence gathering. From the videos and photos circulating online, it is evident the state used covert methods to suppress the protests. In areas like Githurai, we saw police officers dressed in jua kali clothing and boda boda reflectors, while others wore masks. Interesting times to live in Kenya.

CS Geoffrey Ruku has told Hot 96 that all the goodies distributed in Ol Kalou during the just-concluded by-election cost roughly KSh 100 million. Ruku further adds that the money was not directly from the Exchequer but from UDA's account. Ruku, in his wisdom, says UDA funded the distribution of thousands of 6-kilogram LPG cooking gas cylinders and mattresses, two motorized fishing boats valued at KSh 5 million, and 20,000 fish fingerlings to promote aquaculture. CS Ruku further suggests UDA financed the revival of the Nairobi to Nyahururu railway line; the construction of the 37-kilometer Ithangani to Ngorika to Kanyiriri road; upgrades at Ol Kalou Market, including translucent roofing for vending zones; as well as the distribution of cash handouts, water pipes, electricity poles, and food donations.
