Today, OCEAN is launching two additional Stratum endpoints. We’ve heard from miners who want a simple way to express support/readiness for BIP110 in their blocks, and we’re making that available. OCEAN has added two new Stratum endpoints: • port 3110 • port 3000 The existing endpoint ( will switch to signaling BIP110 in 1 week (July 15th). DATUM remains the main way OCEAN miners build blocks today, giving miners full control over block construction including the ability to signal directly in the blocks they find. This update simply adds an option to signal for miners who are unable to use DATUM or who need a failover. At OCEAN, we believe miners should have choice in how they participate in the network. If you’d like your hashpower to participate in signaling, you’re welcome to join OCEAN. It’s permissionless, non-custodial, and takes just minutes to get started. Setup details 👇 If you're not using DATUM and you want to signal for BIP110, please switch your pool to stratum+tcp://bip110.mine.ocean.xyz port 3110. If you leave stratum+tcp://mine.ocean.xyz port 3334 as your pool, this will switch to signaling on July 15th. If you do not wish to signal for BIP110, you can switch to stratum+tcp://no-signal.mine.ocean.xyz port 3000 before July 15th.

DATUM on OCEAN Lower bandwidth. Fewer stale shares. Reduced latency. More BTC. Sovereign blocks. 1% fee. Mining in the middle of nowhere never felt so good. Big respect to Sangha Renewables for pushing the edges of what's possible. 🌊

Last week was big for Bitcoin mining decentralization. Congrats to GoMining for mining the first ever Stratum V2 block on DMND. Decentralizing Bitcoin mining is a core tenet of our mission at OCEAN and we're glad to see other protocols joining DATUM in that mission. A brief history below 👇

Oft-overlooked in mining is the “stale share.” Stale shares are lost revenue from real work. OCEAN's stale share rate with DATUM is near zero compared to the usual 0.1-0.5% on other pools. If you missed Jason Hughes in Vegas The Bitcoin Conference, this is the talk to catch. 👇

Every industry has pioneers and on this day 15 years ago Luke Dashjr, one of Bitcoin's earliest developers and mining pioneers, learned about Bitcoin. May your 2026 be full of wonderful discoveries! Happy New Year 🎉

Two years ago, OCEAN set out to decentralize Bitcoin mining. Today, miners from around the world are building their own blocks with DATUM. Grateful for the miners, builders, and partners who made this possible. Year 3 starts now. 🌊⚡️

🚀 A new era in Bitcoin mining is here 🚀 On Dec 12, 2024, Type One Mining solo mined block #874168 using DATUM—not just providing hash power but fully designing the block template. This marks a shift where miners reclaim creative control of the blockchain. Our miners call it a euphoric experience to design, solve, and imprint their name on a block. Congrats Type One Marc & the entire team at Type One Mining! 🎉
