Yet another shameful display by the ruling AAP leadership! While people suffer long power cuts, farmers sit in mandis guarding their crops day & night, employees await pending DA & pensionary benefits, and lawlessness rules the streets — AAP MLAs, ministers and even the Vidhan Sabha Speaker are shamelessly playing hula-hoop games and dancing to the tunes of Manish Sisodia. And while doing so, they didn’t even care that photos of Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar & Shaheed Bhagat Singh were lying cluttered around their feet! This amounts to gross disrespect to our icons. I WELCOME MY ARREST. THIS RUNS IN MY BLOOD. But I warn the govt against the arrest of our peaceful Akali workers. This is a broad daylight murder of democracy, civil liberties and human rights. Where are the champions of human rights today? Agitated linemen were first lathi charged on September 5 & now when they have climbed a 66 KVA tower in Patiala they are being threatened with cases. I spoke to the aggrieved youth and promised them all possible help on behalf of Shiromani Akali Dal. They deserve justice. #JusticeForPbiYouth.

Strongly condemn the disruption of the peaceful ‘Nagar Kirtan’ procession in South Auckland, New Zealand, yesterday by local protesters. Nagar Kirtan is a sacred Sikh tradition—a joyous religious parade involving the singing of hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, promoting devotion, unity, and sharing of blessings with all humanity. I am glad to note that the Sikh community responded with remarkable restraint and peace despite provocation—true to Guru Sahib’s teachings of ‘Chardi kala’ and ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’. I urge Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi to enhance the financial assistance of Rs 1,600 crore announced for Punjab besides considering a one time loan waiver for farmers in flood affected areas. I also demand an explanation from AAP govt after the shocking revelation during the PM’s visit that despite having Rs 12,000 crore with it under the Disaster Management Fund it failed to release aid when it was most needed. The AAP govt has compounded the woes of the Punjabis with this criminal negligence.

Shiromani Akali Dal, on coming to power in 2027, will terminate all water sharing agreements of Punjab signed by any govt at any point of time, with any state. The neighbouring states, especially Rajasthan, has no right on Punjab waters, but it’s unfortunate that it’s unduly getting nearly half of our total water. Now when Punjab is suffering from severe floods, caused due to heavy rains in Himachal, none of these neighbouring states has come forward to receive the extra water to rescue our human lives, land & livestock. We will set things rights, it’s my commitment to the Punjabis.

Instead of indulging in cheap theatrics on the sensitive issue of sacrilege, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring should explain why he never raised his voice against the biggest sacrilege committed against the Sikh Qaum by his “mother” Indira Gandhi — when she attacked Sri Darbar Sahib with tanks and mortars. Warring should also tell whether he ever visited any of the places where 597 sacrileges took place in the last 10 years. Did his government catch any of the culprits during its 5 years in power? Colonel Baath’s wife is running from pillar to post seeking justice for her husband and son as the Patiala Police have filed an FIR against unknown people in the case. This incident has brought shame to the Punjab police as well as to the entire state. I extend full support to the Colonel Ba’ath and his family and strongly demand the immediate dismissal and arrest of the guilty cops.

Submitting myself to the Guru's will in the precinct of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest religio-temporal seat of the Sikh quom, I sincerely and unconditionally seek forgiveness of the Khalsa Panth that heinous act of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji happened during Akali govt. It’s shocking that, with only one year left in office, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has suddenly remembered #InvestPunjab and gone on a tour to Japan. The last such event was a complete washout, with comedian Kapil Sharma being invited as the chief guest. I only appeal to the Chief Minister to maintain the dignity of his office and ensure that an incident similar to his deboarding from a #Lufthansa plane in a drunken state does not recur. 🙏

Here is my take on #India vs #भारत row: It does not behove a Union govt to change names with political motives at a time when it is hosting the #G20 summit. How will the world perceive a country which is indulging in such political stunts? What India needs is respect for all. We will be a strong nation if there is respect for all religions and creeds. Not by changing names. Every citizen must feel he is a part of the country. Include everyone. Concentrate on development. Don’t create divisiveness in society.
