Agitated linemen were first lathi charged on September 5 & now when they have climbed a 66 KVA tower in Patiala they are being threatened with cases. I spoke to the aggrieved youth and promised them all possible help on behalf of Shiromani Akali Dal. They deserve justice. #JusticeForPbiYouth.

Now, with the reported rejection of Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) applications, hundreds of Indian students, most of them from Punjab are facing immense distress and uncertainty as the rules have changed midway. I urge Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar to intervene and raise this matter immediately with the Canadian government. I too will be taking this issue up personally with all the Punjabi Members Of Parliament in Canada. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal units abroad have already been directed to help these children in whatever manner possible. Together, we must work on finding a fair resolution for all our honest and hardworking students. Their future should not become a casualty of changing political dynamics.

It is shocking that goons carrying walkie-talkies and weapons were found inside LPU - and it was the brave students who nabbed them and got them arrested. Those apprehended are outsiders, which establishes that this is a larger conspiracy. I want to ask, where have police filed the FIR after the arrest? This is not new for AAP. We saw the same pattern in Malerkotla where AAP leader Naresh Yadav was involved in holy Quran Sharif's sacrilege and was sentenced to jail. Arvind Kejriwal and his Delhi leaders are now trying to distract and deceive Punjabis with such incidents to divert attention from the recent revelations made during the ED raids about the Rs 10,000 crore scam and the fact that his cabal is illegally occupying Govt bungalows in Chandigarh and trying to run Punjab by proxy. Guru Dokhi Bhagwant Mann has once again failed Punjab. His primary duty was to ensure peace and security, but he has completely abdicated his responsibility. Instead of protecting students, he is misusing the state machinery for political gains.

Disturbed to learn that our superstar Gippy Grewal received a threat from notorious gangster Goldy Brar — right after CM Bhagwant Mann withdrew his security cover, just because he came to meet me at my Badal residence recently! No one is safe in Punjab anymore, as law and order has totally collapsed. Security is now decided on the CM’s whims and fancies. We already lost one of our best singers, Sidhu Moosewala, due to Bhagwant’s disastrous decision to withdraw his security and leak it to the media. As I warned earlier: if any mishap occurs, Bhagwant Mann, you will be directly responsible!

The Shiromani Akali Dal strongly condemns the Maharashtra govt’s decision to interfere in the autonomous functioning of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib by repealing The Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Act, 1956 and replacing it with a new law. This sacred Takht, sanctified by Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji, belongs to the Sikh Panth. No government has any right to impose control over it. We urge the Maharashtra Govt & CM Sh. Devendra Fadnavis to immediately withdraw this proposal and not take any step that conflicts with the sentiments of the Sikh Sangat.

Shiromani Akali Dal, on coming to power in 2027, will terminate all water sharing agreements of Punjab signed by any govt at any point of time, with any state. The neighbouring states, especially Rajasthan, has no right on Punjab waters, but it’s unfortunate that it’s unduly getting nearly half of our total water. Now when Punjab is suffering from severe floods, caused due to heavy rains in Himachal, none of these neighbouring states has come forward to receive the extra water to rescue our human lives, land & livestock. We will set things rights, it’s my commitment to the Punjabis.

Strongly condemn the disruption of the peaceful ‘Nagar Kirtan’ procession in South Auckland, New Zealand, yesterday by local protesters. Nagar Kirtan is a sacred Sikh tradition—a joyous religious parade involving the singing of hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, promoting devotion, unity, and sharing of blessings with all humanity. I am glad to note that the Sikh community responded with remarkable restraint and peace despite provocation—true to Guru Sahib’s teachings of ‘Chardi kala’ and ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’. Such intimidation threatens religious freedom and the spirit of universal brotherhood. I urge hon’ble External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to raise this matter with the New Zealand govt and ensure strong measures are taken to protect the rights of the Indian diaspora and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

I urge Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi to enhance the financial assistance of Rs 1,600 crore announced for Punjab besides considering a one time loan waiver for farmers in flood affected areas. I also demand an explanation from AAP govt after the shocking revelation during the PM’s visit that despite having Rs 12,000 crore with it under the Disaster Management Fund it failed to release aid when it was most needed. The AAP govt has compounded the woes of the Punjabis with this criminal negligence.
