On the eve of what would have been John's 80th birthday, I wanted to share this gem from his 75th birthday party. John hated celebrating his birthday but our hosts went to all the trouble of planning the party that he conceded. The food was amazing and all the guests gave John really thoughtful gifts. His favorite being the live band, he had enjoyed on a previous evening out, providing the entertainment. We ate. We drank. We danced. It was a good time. But the best part of the night was John giving this impromptu rendition of Frank Sinatra's It Was A Very Good Year. John would later tell me that he really enjoyed the party and he was glad he conceded. I miss you John. The world's a lot less colorful without you in it.💔

Lock down during covid was horrendous, however, John found a way to make it fun for us. We would watch movies together and he would try to find creative ways to pass the time. Once restrictions began to ease up, John and I would take a trip to the grocery store, afterwards driving around somewhat aimlessly. Enjoying our new found freedom. Ever the prankster, John would have me randomly pull over in order to intercept his intended target. Most would ignore him but occasionally some would come over. This is one instance of the former. Enjoy.
