Gold Coast started playing in the AFL in 2011. Before they started play in 2011, they drafted David Swallow with their first ever draft pick in 2010. Today, after 15 years, they played in their first ever AFL Finals game. And to top it all off, David Swallow, who is retiring at the end of this season, and is the only Suns player left from their inaugural season, kicked the winning point with just nine second remaining to win it for Gold Coast. You couldn’t write a script better than this!
