Some of our responders recently took part in a training exercise off the coast of the Isle of Wight, UK. Half of the team set out on a vessel just south of the Isle of Wight, whilst the rest boarded our B727 plane along with the 2Excel crew, to monitor a simulation of dispersant spraying over the Solent. Effective oil spill response depends on continuous training, and specialised exercises like these expose responders to operational, environmental, and decision-making challenges that they might face during a real spill.
