260824 WangYibo suing New Style Media Group Company (NSMG) - Multiple companies for infringement! CLARIFICATION‼️ Wang Yibo filed a lawsuit against Xinpai Media Company (NSMG). Solos 🏍 as always began manipulating data, brainwashing, spreading lies that Yibo is against "The Untamed" and cp fans, suing the company that produced CQL for bts and etc. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗦: Wang Yibo is suing 5 (!) derivative companies together (the cases were consolidated for trial) and Xinpai Media Group Company, the production company of "The Untamed", NOT the drama itself!! 1. Cooperation Level: when "The Untamed" was filmed, the artist and Xinpai Media had a film and television project cooperation relationship. During filming the right to use Wang Yibo's image was authorized to the production team for promotional purposes and broadcast. However after filming and the end of the cooperation Xinpai had no right to use Wang Yibo's personal image for commercial purposes long-term and beyond the permitted scope! 2. Reason for Infringement: after the cooperation ended Xinpai used Wang Yibo's image for merchandise sales, derivative commercial monetization, and even created online games! This exceeded the scope of the original project cooperation authorization and constitutes illegal commercial use of his image. This is the core reason for the lawsuit‼️ 3. Defining Boundaries: the broadcast rights for the main episodes of "The Untamed" belong to Tencent!! Xinpai was merely the IP derivative operator. Wang Yibo's rights protection action is to pursue legal responsibility against the company for exceeding the contract period and illegally abusing his image. It's not a denial of the drama, nor is it directed at the work itself!! Many ppl are spreading rumors and misunderstanding that Wang Yibo is suing the production company of "The Untamed," but that's completely wrong. He is suing the production company Xin Pai Media.
