I didn’t expect this to give me goosebumps. What stands out to you? What struck me most was how rarely he looked at the attorney delivering closing arguments. His eyes barely looked in that direction and when they did, it was fleeting, almost as if he had to force himself to look before quickly looking away each time.

The shock of seeing 34 Fairview in person will take awhile to wear off. No matter how much or how often I’ve heard about the front yard being small - there is no way to understand it without seeing it in person. I feel silly to even post these pictures and the video because I know they won’t deliver the message I want to deliver. It is small. Like small, small. Narrow, dense, short and the flagpole is right there - sticking out when you drive by. I couldn’t believe it before, but now I question the sanity of the prosecution team that thought they could convince even one person that so many people simply missed John’s body. Impossible, improbable, it simply didn’t happen.

After the initial shock of watching these disturbing “interviews,” what stays with me is not just anger - but a deep, growing sense of anxiety and heartbreak. I think of every person who could find themselves in a vulnerable, helpless situation - someone who is naive, someone who trusts law enforcement and strives to be a law-abiding citizen. What if that person were your parent, your child, your friend? I have deep respect for good police officers - they are the backbone of a just society. They serve with honor and integrity, and their presence makes the actions of bad cops look not only shameful, but truly dangerous. This kind of treatment is inhumane, even if a person were guilty. But when the person is innocent? The devastation is irreversible. To lose your freedom, your dignity, your family, your future - this is a tragedy that no appeal can ever truly undo. His life will never be the same. Neither will his wife’s, his mother’s, or his daughter’s. How can anyone witness this and feel nothing? We must do better. We must demand better. We must recognize and uplift the good in law enforcement - and we must expose, hold accountable, and remove those who abuse their power. Don’t be silent. Don’t be afraid. Don’t accept this as normal.
