When I resumed, the reports were there: operatives driving Range Rovers, living in Maitama. So we asked them directly — where did the house come from? The car? “A gift from my brother abroad.” Fine. Where is the evidence? That is why we built a Gift and Hospitality Policy. Any asset above a set threshold must be declared and registered. The law permits certain traditional gifts; we define which ones you may accept and which you may not. We renamed the Department of Internal Affairs the Department of Ethics and Integrity, because the work it does is internal cleansing. In under three years I have dismissed over 40 staff for corruption and financial malpractice. More than five are already being prosecuted, with more case files in preparation. Those cases are in open court — you can follow them. If I investigate and prosecute people in other MDAs for this, why would I merely dismiss my own? #EFCC #Olukoyede #Integrity #GiftPolicy #InternalCleansing #Accountability #Nigeria #FightAgainstCorruption

Then I asked him why. His answer stayed with me: both his parents had lost their jobs. He didn’t want to drop out. He wanted a certificate and a way to make an honest living. This was how he was paying for it. That conversation is why we pushed for NELFUND. The President had approved it, but no appropriation had been made — no money. I took the MD to Mr President, he took it to the Council, and the funds were released from our recoveries. NELFUND has now reached about 1.6 million students. And we are not simply pushing money out for anyone to loot. We are building a fraud risk assessment platform around it. Cross the line — including the institutions handling these funds — and we will come after you. The talent in our young people is real. What they’ve lacked is a legitimate way to use it. #EFCC #Olukoyede #NELFUND #StudentLoans #Cybercrime #Youth #Nigeria #FightAgainstCorruption #SecondChance

A university seized from crime is now a federal university. The recovered campus in Kaduna State became the Federal University of Applied Sciences, and in December 2025, 1,909 students matriculated there. Young people who, in the ordinary course of things, would never have seen the inside of a lecture hall. Think of what that alone does for the local economy of Southern Kaduna. Another private university has just been finally forfeited to the Federal Government. The house built there for the vice chancellor is bigger than the president’s residence in the Villa. The pictures are public — look them up. Beyond cash, between October 2023 and July 2026 we secured the forfeiture of 10,053 assets: real estate, land, vehicles, electronics, schools, factories, hotels, oil rigs, barges, machinery and aircraft, along with 102 tonnes of solid minerals. Disposals so far have returned ₦12.07 billion to the Federal Government. This is what enforcement looks like when it moves beyond punishment. Every asset taken from a criminal enterprise lowers the reward for the next one — and some of it comes back as a classroom. #EFCC #Olukoyede #AssetForfeiture #Restoration #Education #Kaduna #Nigeria #FightAgainstCorruption #Accountability

A bank chief who set up his own company, applied to himself for the loan, appraised it himself, approved it himself — and walked away with money meant to grow Nigerian exports. Twelve counts. Convicted on all twelve. 490 years. An Accountant General of the Federation. Twelve counts again. Convicted on all twelve. 72 years. The principle is simple: no office, no title, no rank places anyone beyond the reach of the law. We investigate professionally. We prosecute on the strength of our evidence. And we let the court decide. #EFCC #Olukoyede #FightAgainstCorruption #Accountability #Nigeria #RuleOfLaw #ZeroTolerance #JusticeServed

This file landed on my desk in my first weeks in office. Money borrowed to light up Nigeria — gone. Projects abandoned. Nigerians left in the dark. We cracked it in three months. Twelve counts. Watertight evidence. Twelve convictions. And for the first time in our history, the court agreed the sentences should run consecutively, not concurrently. Public office is not a licence to steal. The work continues. #EFCC #Olukoyede #FightAgainstCorruption #Accountability #Nigeria #ZeroTolerance #JusticeServed
