May 15, 2006 on Raw. Vince is on the couch with a drink. Candice Michelle sits down in the black dress and the segment turns into the Mr. McMahon act: hands, kissing, her on his lap. No match. No finish. Just the boss character using a backstage scene the way WWE used a lot of women’s TV that year. WWE later pulled the bit from Network replays. Candice has said it was awkward and that she played it as a scene, not a date. She still became Women’s Champion the next year. This clip is the version of her run people circulate first.

April 30, 2000. Backlash. Stone Cold hadn’t been on TV in months after a serious neck injury. The Rock was outnumbered. Triple H had the title, Shane as referee, Vince and Stephanie at ringside. Then the glass shattered. Austin didn’t wrestle a match. He walked down with a steel chair, leveled everyone in his way, and left The Rock to hit the People’s Elbow and take the championship. About 19,000 fans erupted so loud it drowned the commentary.

JBL challenged Stone Cold to a beer drinking contest — and immediately tried to cheat, dumping his beer on the mat instead of actually drinking it. Only problem: Austin caught it. And with Chris Benoit blocking off any escape route, there was nowhere for JBL to run. Austin dragged him back into the ring, dropped him with a Stunner, and finished the job by pouring beer all over him for good measure. It's peak Austin comedy — the kind of segment that could only exist in the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression crossover era, where a Stunner and a beer bath doubled as storyline advancement. This one also fed right into JBL's growing issues with Benoit heading toward WrestleMania 22, so the laughs came with actual stakes attached.

June 5, 2003, SmackDown. Vince is in the office with Sable when Stephanie walks in. She tears into him for bringing back a woman who had sued the company, then the promo turns on their own history. She says she spent her life trying to stay the apple of his eye, including dinners with his business associates when she was 17, that they told her what he had promised them, and that she is ashamed she became like him. It was a written Mr. McMahon angle. The clip still hits because they put that version of him on television.

😂 Stone Cold literally did NOT know how to handle Goldust 2002, backstage — Austin's just standing there giving Goldust that "what in the hell is wrong with you" face while Dust does his whole weird routine. You can see Austin's brain buffering in real time 💀 This is why Attitude Era backstage segments hit different. Two totally opposite characters just thrown together and told "figure it out." Stone Cold's face alone carries this whole clip.
