Pathetic arrangements at Phoenix Market City for a movie celebration event of Hiphop Tamizha who didn’t turn up after police directed the organisers to cancel the event due to swelling crowds. Even if he didn’t turn up, the organisers played songs to keep engaging the crowd that kept coming in from 11 am, and it exploded by 6 pm. People were packed like sardines inside the mall’s ground floor in the free ticketed event. It triggered a stampede like situation and spilled outside by evening 6 pm, bringing the entire #Velachery into a mega gridlock. People were diverted through fire exits to juggle between mall floors, many were caught for hours inside the parking itself while people couldn’t exit freely too. Phoenix in a statement clarified that they were committed to providing safe experience for people. Did GREATER CHENNAI POLICE -GCP & Greater Chennai Traffic Police give permission for this event?

Hence, their village has uniformly decided to back #TVK.

The Congress and DMK councillors engaged in a war of words, with DMK calling Congress traitors. Congress walked out of the council hall, alleging they were denied the oppositon status and also grouped seating for the 27 councillors in oppositon.

Work to construct a new council hall for Greater Chennai Corporation is ongoing at Ripon Buildings. The new council hall will be built to accommodate upto 300 councillors. Currently, there are 200 councillors and plans were floated by the DMK govt to increase it to 250 councillors after delimiting zones. It wasn’t finished due to elections. Till 2011, the city had 150 councillors and it was increased to 200.

She had to constantly struggle financially and space wise to coordinate and study at home, with her sister who is doing B.Pharm. She said apart from studying she wants to ensure kids for her locality Kodungaiyur pursues higher education.
