Abi's marriage has been mocked, sexualised and repeatedly treated like a boundary that needs to be "broken" in the Big Brother Naija house. At what point does this stop being "cruise" and become what it actually is: blatant disrespect? Abi came into this show proudly married and has never hidden her love or loyalty to her husband. Yet, her marital status has been repeatedly used to taunt, embarrass and provoke her. A housemate has made sexual comments about her, spoken about wanting to sleep with her and continued pushing for intimacy despite knowing she is married. He has even questioned why a married woman should be on the show in the first place. Instead of some of housemates to call him to order, they're egging him on. Since when did marriage become a shackle on a woman's dreams? Being cordial with a man is not consent. Being friendly is not a green light. And being on a reality show does not mean your boundaries are suddenly up for negotiation. Today, another female housemate even encouraged him to "apply pressure" and break those boundaries. That is not funny. It is not harmless. And it should not be normalised. This is a game, but winning should never require deliberately disrespecting someone's marriage, boundaries or dignity.
