A bully pulled a knife on a helpless student, not knowing an ancient tree spirit had already claimed him as its son. Max is bullied every day, robbed of his money, and threatened constantly. Before his dying mother passes away, she gives him a mysterious book and sends him to find a special tree deep in the forest. She tells him that if he performs the ritual, the tree spirit will accept him as its son and protect him for life. Max follows her instructions, but nothing happens. Then his bully appears, smashes his amulet, and threatens him with a knife. He thinks Max is completely alone. But something terrifying has been watching him all along.

This movie scene took "keep your friend close, but your enemies closer" to a whole new level. Artemisia offered him power, her army, and he still said no. He didn't defeat her with a sword; Artemisia was defeated with something more worthy than a sword. Watch till the end to witness one of the surprising plot twists in movie history.
