Ted Kravitz shares on the Road to Success podcast that he had the idea of asking Oscar “security questions” after his Baku crash to check if he was the “real Oscar”, but ultimately decided against it: “It was like, let’s find out if we’re talking to the real Oscar Piastri here. Let’s ask him security questions. And once we’ve established… see where I’m going with this, maybe not? Maybe it’s a terrible idea, which is why I didn’t use it in the end. “I was going to start: ‘Oh, sorry, Mr Piastri, can I just take you through some security questions? Can I have your mother’s maiden name? Okay, good. Can I have the name of your first pet? Fluffles? Okay, great. Okay, now I’m satisfied I’m dealing with the real Oscar Piastri. Q: “Whenever you overtake a driver, you have 5 seconds to say something to the overtaken driver. Would you have a catchphrase?" Oscar: “Um, I don’t think so because the thing with F1 is everyone is so competitive, so there’s a good chance that whatever you say to a driver, they’re probably gonna say it back twice as much when they overtake you the next time. Hopefully, it’s… they never do that. But I think with how competitive it is now, you never know who your competition is gonna be each week. So, I wouldn’t say anything. George Russell—last year, he pulled an overtake on me and said, ‘Big move.’ And the reason I bring this up is because, five laps later, he ran out of tyres, and I overtook him back. So he looked quite silly. Um, so that’s why I wouldn’t say anything, because it can change very quickly. Yeah… I wouldn’t say anything. I think, you know, Max would probably say, ‘Simply lovely.’ Lando… would probably say the same, just to make fun of Max. But for me, I don’t know, I would keep quiet because I know that very easily, it can be the opposite way around.”
