Iran launched at least 10 ballistic missiles and several Shahed-131/136 drones overnight, targeting the U.S. Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait and the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet base in Manama, Bahrain. The MSC Panaya container ship was struck with missiles separately. The IRGC stated the operation was in direct response to U.S. airstrikes on Qeshm Island and an attack on an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

A Hellfire missile struck the vessel’s engine room, preventing it from reaching port. Since the blockade began on April 13, the U.S. says it has disabled 6 vessels and redirected 122 others.

The agents had returned to Iran years earlier, living ordinary civilian lives until activated in spring 2025.
