U.S. military: "U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed another round of strikes against Iran at 9 p.m. ET, July 20. U.S. forces struck Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz. Commercial vessel transits through the vital international maritime corridor continue. Since early May, CENTCOM forces have helped facilitate the transit of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil. American forces remain postured and prepared to hold Iran accountable for unwarranted aggression toward civilian mariners seeking to freely and openly transit the strait."

After UNESCO moved forward with criticism of Israel over heritage sites, Israel responded by accusing the organization of ignoring Hezbollah’s military use of Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon. Israel says Hezbollah built an extensive tunnel network beneath the historic fortress and used the site to launch roughly 400 rockets at Israeli communities. The Foreign Ministry also released graphics and video it says show the tunnels beneath Beaufort Castle, arguing UNESCO has remained silent on the site’s militarization while condemning Israel.

Iranian media reports that a key bridge connecting Bandar Abbas to Shiraz, known as the Bandar Abbas–Kahurestan–Lar bridge, was struck in the latest U.S. attacks on the area. Video description: A missile hit the middle of the bridge. A fuel tanker exploded, the driver was killed. A whole section of the bridge is gone. Nobody should come this side. Video from Vahid Online.

WATCH: SUDAN: Days after the U.S. imposed a second round of sanctions on Sudan, saying it had determined the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), led by General al Burhan, used chemical weapons during the Sudanese civil war, residents in Umm Garfa, North Kordofan, shared footage of what they claim was the aftermath of an SAF Antonov dropping munitions. Witnesses said the munitions released thick yellow smoke, prompting some to claim it was some sort of chemical attack. (Please note: the color and smoke ring are not evidence of a chemical weapon. Chemical use usually cannot be confirmed from footage alone and requires forensic investigation.)
