As Alexis Markowski was answering a question, you can hear Lisa Bluder trying to get into the media room, saying, "this is bullshit, this is not Big Ten protocol... they play music while you shoot free throws..." USC didn't have to stay on the court. Juju didn't have to stay on the court. Juju's parents didn't have to stay courtside. But they all did. They all remained out on the floor, even after what I'm sure was a crushing loss. They stuck around to honor Caitlin's jersey retirement. Much respect to Juju and the folks around her. Classy women on a classy team, raised by classy parents.

After breaking the scoring record, Caitlin was asked about what her 6 year old self would think of where she is now... Today I posed the same question to coach Bluder. As always, she gave incredibly thoughtful perspective about how far the game has come since her childhood in Marion.

Tim Dwight's going to get inducted in the NFHS Hall of Fame later this year. I'm not old enough to have seen him in person. But looking through some old archives, this guy was an alien, right? Like he was a high school cheat code? Cooper Dejean is the best high school athlete I've covered, and Dwight not only looks bigger and stronger, but he was erasing 4A opponents like it was nothing.
