Paank strongly condemns the brutal crackdown by Pakistani forces on peaceful protesters in Quetta, #Balochistan. The demonstrators had gathered to demand an end to enforced disappearances, a widespread and systematic crime used by the state to silence Baloch voices. In a shocking display of state violence, security forces indiscriminately opened fire on unarmed protesters, resulting in the killing of a minor Baloch child and leaving several others critically injured. Additionally, mobile internet services have been shut down in an attempt to suppress information and prevent the world from witnessing this atrocity. This attack is a clear violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. The Pakistani state must be held accountable for its ongoing campaign of enforced disappearances and violent repression in Balochistan. Paank demands an immediate and independent investigation into this extrajudicial killing and the use of excessive force against peaceful demonstrators. We call upon international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and the United Nations, to take urgent notice of these crimes and pressure Pakistani authorities to end their systematic oppression of the Baloch people.

Paank strongly condemns the violent pre-dawn crackdown by state security forces on peaceful protesters in #Quetta. This ruthless assault, which included the arrest of Mahrang Baloch and several others, represents yet another act of state repression against the Baloch people. In the early hours of the morning, at approximately 5:30 AM, security forces stormed the sit-in, attacking peaceful demonstrators, including women and children. The authorities forcefully seized dead bodies that protesters had planned to offer funeral prayers for, further intensifying the grief of the victims’ families. Dr. Mahrang Baloch and many others were violently dragged and arrested. Paank denounces this blatant state brutality and demands the immediate release of all detained individuals. We call on the international community, human rights organizations, and global civil society to take urgent notice of these human rights violations and hold the perpetrators accountable. The world must not stay silent as the Baloch people continue to face systematic repression and violence. #Justice must prevail.

We strongly condemn the recent reports of extreme brutality in Gwadar, where peaceful protesters, including leaders of BYC, have been violently attacked. According to eyewitness accounts, armored vehicles were driven into the crowds at the #BalochNationalGathering, resulting in numerous injuries. This incident represents a severe violation of the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. Paank demands an immediate and impartial investigation into the use of excessive force by security forces. The deliberate targeting of protesters with armored vehicles is a grave human rights violation and can not be justified under any circumstances. We call on the Pakistani authorities to: Ensure the safety and well-being of all injured individuals, providing them with necessary medical care. Hold accountable those responsible for ordering and carrying out the violent crackdown. Respect and protect the rights of the Baloch people to peacefully assemble and express their demands. Engage in meaningful dialogue with the Baloch protestors address their grievances and concerns. Paank stands in solidarity with the victims and calls on the international community to pressure the Pakistani government to uphold human rights and democratic principles. The world must not turn a blind eye to the suffering and repression faced by the people in Gwadar.
