Exactly five years ago Fahim & I launched the very first version of NMKR. Back then NFTs were completely new, Native Assets on Cardano just became a thing, Cardano had no support for Smart Contracts & the Spacebudz were barely 1 month old. NMKR was still called NFT-MAKER and our primary colour was blue, not green. Fahim designed the page & I built NFT-MAKER v1 in a few days, while writing my final university thesis (about creating a Metaverse on Cardano btw). There was nothing going on in Cardano, no dApps, no users, nothing. ADA price was at less than 10ct (if i remember correctly) and all of Cardano X was just Stake Pool Operators shilling their Stake Pool to other Stake Pool Operators. NFT-MAKER became incredibly popular very quickly, even though you could only mint 1 NFT at a time and the tool was super rudimentary. But people liked it and we minted I believe almost 50,000+ NFTs just with NFT-MAKER v1. Then NMKR Studio launched a few months later and changed everything. Today 5 years later, with many very high highs & low lows I look back and can proudly say: We're still here. And even though the market has changed a lot, the team has changed, cofounders left, we almost ran out of money multiple times + all the other hard things we had to do, we've adapted and have shown resilience. We're still in the game and we'll not stop until we win. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in all these years. It really means a lot. Happy Birthday NMKR 🎉

Cardano Booth at Google DevFest is going well. The goal is to get as many signups as possible to the Cardano hackathon in Bangalore later this year. Seems to be working well so far, looking forward to the KPIs later. Big shoutout to Nucast.io & Trivolve Tech for putting Cardano on the map in India. They do not get enough credit. Absolute onboarding machine.

Good Morning Cardano Serviceplan Group, the marketing agency who also works for companies like BMW, Netflix, Amazon, etc. has just submitted an official Marketing proposal for the Intersect Budget process. After 1.5 years of building Masumi & becoming closer & closer to Cardano, they've decided that they want to become Cardanos official Marketing partner. Some disclaimers first: 1) I am an unpaid advisor to this proposal. Yes, unpaid. I do not get any money if it wins but I've decided to give some of my time & help Serviceplan with connections into the ecosystem because I believe that professional marketing like this is very much needed in Cardano. 2) This is a joint proposal coming from multiple different agencies from inside the Serviceplan Group. Serviceplan has around 6000+ employees. The team working on this is a different team than the one working on Masumi. 3) This proposal is not a grant or some speculative investment or so. It's an actual proposal for very specific work package that will be carried out. It's the first time SP has ever done "public pitch" like this, normally they're used to pitching in front of marketing departments of large enterprises. 6 months of work went into drafting this proposal. So please be nice, even when you have criticism. :) 4) Serviceplan is the only entity that I know of from outside of Cardano that has invested a Multi-Million dollar amount into Cardano development in recent years. I'm not sure I'm allowed to say the exact number but let's just say this: If they win this proposal + the Catalyst proposals they've received for Masumi, it will still be less than what they've invested into Cardano so far. That alone should be reason to take a very serious look at this. Now about the proposal itself: The goal of this proposal is to broadly "reposition" Cardano as the Blockchain for serious business. It's specially built so it captures Leads & distributes them into the ecosystem. The main pillars that the proposal focuses on are 1) DeFi and 2) Supply Chain. Now I highly recommend everyone for read through the full proposal, I will put the link to the PDF into the comments.

Yesterday I bought 50k USD worth of Tokenized Gold (fGLD) on Cardano for the NMKR company treasury. This Gold will be used to provide 100k in fGLD/USDM liquidity on a Cardano DEX. I hope bringing more Gold Liquidity can increase the transaction volume. Sometimes you need a reminder of why you're even doing what you're doing. This video from Charles Hoskinson was that reminder for me today: I joined Cardano because I believe in its power to level the playing field for everyone. One system for everyone. Full inclusion. It's very easy to get distracted by the daily shenanigans of weird shitcoins, the latest ape NFT drop or, as a founder, the focus on profitability, generating revenue, increasing your runway, talking to investors and so on. But the truth is that the only thing that matters is solving real problems for real humans. From the ICO hype to the NFT hype to the DAO hype. There have been too many speculative bubbles that have overshadowed the fundamentals of crypto. We're here to change the world. Everything else is just fluff. Right now, the most used dApp across all blockchains has less than 1.5 Million active users/wallets a month. That number is a joke. It shows me that we have yet to achieve what we set out to do. It's time for crypto to prove itself; it's time to solve actual problems, to make the world fairer, to make the world better. I do believe that NFTs will play a role in this; that's why I'm building what I'm building. But we must de-couple from the purely speculative bubbles and finally focus on the use cases that really matter. Crypto can & will change the world. It's too important not to try.

Here is a video of me using NMKR Pay to mint a Music NFT by @fortunes_fool1 on the NEWM | More from Music x Sick City Record Store using the Minswap Labs Token. In the background, DexHunter 🏹 aggregated the best price for the Token & used the WingRiders Smart Contract to sell the Tokens for ADA. NMKR then receives the ADA, mints the NFT and sends the remaining ADA to the artist. This is the kind of interoperability I live for.
