1848 | Episode 2 | Magnificent This is the second episode of 1848, and certainly the most ambitious video I've released so far. Following Episode 1 and our encounter with Nathaniel Reed, who is investigating the mysterious death of Elise Keller, our long-form AI thriller takes us to the city of Bern, while beginning to weave connections with the United States, and New York City in particular. Character building, dialogue, atmosphere, world building, parallel storylines. This episode gave me the opportunity to push all of these much further. For the dinner scene, I first built a 3D previs in Blender, positioning the characters and cameras before generating anything. I deliberately kept the cinematography restrained, allowing the dialogue, subtle shifts in expression, and atmosphere to carry the scene. The second half takes a different direction, intercutting the ball with the masked man's visit. Music spills from one sequence into the other as separate spaces and storylines begin to intertwine. I'm particularly proud of this episode because it explores what AI filmmaking can become when used for sustained storytelling. Not just isolated shots or short experiments, but characters, pacing, atmosphere, and a world that can develop over time.

A long-form AI thriller set in Switzerland in 1848, following a mysterious traveler investigating the death of a young woman three months after her murder. More than anything, this series is an experiment in long-form storytelling. For years, AI filmmaking has been dominated by short clips and technical demonstrations. I wanted to see what happens when the focus shifts back to characters, dialogue, atmosphere, and world building.
