This video of Mickey &amp; Minnie’s Runaway Railway is only notable for what’s NOT in it. If you get EXTREMELY lucky, you can catch the silhouette of the Loch Ness Monster swimming under the pond. We have never seen it, but others have. Are you one of the lucky few?

Star Wars landspeeders can’t float in real life. But somehow this one at Galaxy’s Edge is hovering off the ground with seemingly no support. Sadly, the effect is so subtle, most guests don’t even realize there is a trick. Do you know how Disney does it?

What do you think of smaller-scale atmospheric attractions? The Aquatopia, for example, has no IP at all, but it adds tremendous kinetic energy to the area. Even if you just walk past it, you still benefit from its existence.

The coolest animatronic in Disneyland Paris, and possibly anywhere, is often overlooked by guests panicking to their next ride. Have you seen “La Tanière du Dragon” hidden under the castle? And did you know Tokyo had a similar dragon years prior?

Are you sad to see the “Rock ‘n Roller Coaster” closing? Don’t forget that one already closed years ago when the version at Disney Studios Paris was converted into “Avengers Assemble: Flight Force”. Is it better to see Iron Man fly or the Muppets rock?

Mystic Manor has no IP, all original characters, newly composed music, and is unique to only one park. Is it the unicorn that should be Disney’s approach for future rides, or do modern guests prefer movie tie-ins? Some say it’s the greatest ride ever made!

Mary Poppins was considered Walt Disney’s crowning achievement, but is surprisingly underrepresented in the parks. Most guest have never even heard of the penguin fountain, tucked away in the Grand Floridian DVC building. Is this lowkey the best Poppins thing out there right now?

Playfully splashing at the water’s edge; the dinosaur on the defunct Discovery River Boats was the least seen animatronic in Animal Kingdom, maybe in any Disney park! There is very little video of him, were you one of the lucky few to see him live?

The Haunted Mansion ballroom gets all the accolades. But is Winnie the Pooh’s nightmare secretly the best of Disney’s long history with Pepper’s Ghost effects? It perfectly combines sleeping Pooh and dreaming Pooh. And is faithful to the shot from the actual movie!

Should he stay in The Haunted Mansion or should he go? The debate may rage forever but he’s still hanging around in Tokyo Disneyland, and he may be more visible than ever! What do you think?

Have you ever seen the elusive Funnylookus Tittertwillus (Tri-Crested Tittertwill) bird? Probably not, but he’s in Disney canon and featured as an animatronic in one of the parks to boot! It takes some work to spot him, but it’s worth it.

This little effect uses misdirection, classic magic tricks, modern lighting, and great staging. We think it might be Disney’s best effect, but it’s often overlooked. Is there a more convincing one in any other ride?

It’s always fun to see Dinosaur Gertie decked out for Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Especially when her nose steam is working. This is an early Disney MGM Studios effect that often goes unnoticed. Will you be visiting Gertie for the holidays?

Have you seen this insanity? It’s days old, but we still can’t believe that it’s real. We assumed it was AI, but it appears to have actually happened. We understand that fire-related evacuations follow different protocols, but guests just free-roaming is wild!

Splash Mountain used to have a scary shadow and ominous music building to the final drop. Honestly kinda shocked that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure didn’t use Dr. Facilier and his “friends from the other side” for this scene.

The Magic Kingdom’s Peter Pan’s Flight has an effect that no other version has. The ride vehicles appear to start on a track, before it abruptly ends as the ships lift off the rail and, um… fly. It’s always been a favorite detail of ours. Have you noticed?

In 1990, Disney released a TV show celebrating Disneyland’s 35th anniversary. It’s the most unhinged thing they’ve ever produced. It was led by famed director John Landis and features the most insane Jungle Cruise ever. Could you imagine this being made today?!? Have you seen it?

People hate the projected faces of Anna and Elsa in Frozen Ever After — so much so that Disney World is replacing them in 2026. But can we at least agree that the non-human animatronics were always kind of great?

When observing Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the ride shows the train both entering and leaving the mountain. What happens at the top is the mystery the ride is selling.

Pirates of the Caribbean has other spooky scenes, but Hurricane Lagoon may be the most eerie. The gruesome skeleton at the wheel, seen only in flashes of lightning (so you never quite know when he’ll reappear). No music; only howling wind. Is this the scariest thing in the ride?

Custom animation and animatronics for a counter-service pizza place in a theme park? “Only in Japan” is real, and it’s amazing! Do you know EXACTLY where it is?

Is anything more disheartening than getting Engineer on Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run? Unlike Gunner and Pilot, NOTHING you do changes what’s outside the window. Hopefully Disney has some ideas for how to solve this in the Mandalorian update.

Stupid things we notice while watching MuppetVision 3D. The puppeteer that secretly remove Miss Piggy’s hat before the big waterski finale/fiasco. This clip is real time and slo-mo. You can see her hat slide off behind the bushes.

If you’ve only ridden Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance once, you may not realize that the AT-AT scene has 2 alternate paths, each with different troops. We think the front is the best, because it uses the AT-AT’s main guns. Is there anyone who likes the side elevator better?

In 1982, everything about EPCOT felt new, advanced, and exciting. Ben Franklin actually walking is a perfect example. Back then, The American Adventure was a premier attraction, maybe even THE premier attraction. Today, some visitors don’t even know it exists, so what happened?
