Hate to crap on the CFL Command Centre on a meaningless TD by the Elks Dillon Mitchell on last play of the game in 55-27 loss to the Blue Bombers. But there job is to GET IT RIGHT and not look the other way. Great catch by Mitchell but he was down at the one yard line.

Jets up 3-2 on Wild as Jonathan Toews wins face off and Mark Scheifele scores with 2 seconds left in 2nd period. What I really loved was the fist pump reaction from the usually stoic head coach Scott Arniel

OTD in Jets History Dec 15, 1979. Jet fans receive an early Christmas present as last Avco Cup champs defeat the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens 6-2 on “Tuxedo Night.” Jet fans were encouraged to come to the game in style and many did.

Matt Dunstone ends Manitoba’s longest Brier drought of 15 years with 6-3 win over four time champion Kevin Koe of Alberta. Down 2-1 in 7th end Dunstone told team it was “time to dance” and took lead scoring 3. Double take out in 9 resulted in 2 more and 6-3 victory.

More on the passing of former NHLer and Jets captain Troy Murray. Head coach Scott Arniel was briefly teammates with Murray while with the Jets but their bond goes back to the 1982 World Jr Championship when Murray captained Canada to first ever Gold medal finish

Just to stir the pot. Remember this goal against the Jets back in November v Tampa? NHL Situation Room ruled it was a legitimate goal by the Lightning. Hellebuyck would later reveal NHL officials admitted they erred in making that ruling. Wonder if they’ll have to do that again

OTD in Jets History Dec 26, 1981 a big day for Jets 2nd Rd pick Scott Arniel as Canada blows out the Soviets 7-0 at the WJHC. Jets GM John Ferguson was part of the CBC broadcast and was delighted when Arniel scored his 5th goal of the tournament.

Troy Murray captained Canada to first ever World Junior Championship in 1982. After 10 years in Chicago Murray was traded to Winnipeg and captained 1991/92 Jets team that surprised many by making the playoffs. Murray was one of the best Jets ever to wear the ‘C’ RIP Troy Murray

Gm 1 Jets and Stars tonight. 40 years ago Winnipeg head coach Scott Arniel and Dallas GM Jim Nill were 1.0 Jets teammates. For this playoff series they’ll be the best of frienemies. In two seasons together they teamed up only once with Nill scoring off a rebound chance by Arniel

This is no April Fool’s joke as 30 years ago OTD in Jets History April 1, 1995 Alexei Zhamnov matches Willy Lindstrom’s Jets record for goals in a game scoring five times v LA Kings. Zhamnov’s line mates Igor Korolev and Dallas Drake had four assists each in the 7-7 OT tie.
