37 years ago today on 5/20/89, “Forever Your Girl” became my second #1 on the billboard Hot 100 ♥️ This song became something so much bigger than I ever imagined and the music video will always hold such a special place in my heart… working with all of those incredible kids (like Elijah Wood!) was such a joy ❣️ Forever grateful… and forever your girl. My heart is heavy today as we say goodbye to the incredible Cleto Escobedo III. 💔 I first met Cleto when he was playing sax in a small bar at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I was putting together my band for my first world tour and the moment I heard him, I knew I had to hire him, even though he didn’t have any touring experience yet. His talent and energy were undeniable, and he went on to have an amazing career, reuniting with his best friend Jimmy Kimmel as the bandleader on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Cleto was pure light and soul, both on and off stage. Sending so much love to his family and everyone who loved him ❣️🎷

Today marks the anniversary of Straight Up becoming my very first #1 back in 1989, and on 2/10/90, Opposites Attract reached #1. I’ll never forget how surreal and overwhelming it felt. Looking back now, I’m filled with so much gratitude for everyone who has loved and carried my music through the years 💕 And bonus points if you remember where this performance is from! 😘 XoP

I’m still speechless 🥹 Receiving the 2025 Legacy Honor from the World Choreography Awards was a privilege I’m deeply grateful for. These awards celebrate excellence across so many artistic fields, so being recognized by this respected institution led by Allen Walls and Cheryl Baxter means the world to me. To every director, producer, artist, choreographer and dancer who has trusted and inspired me, thank you for being part of the journey that brought me here. Kelly Sweeney, your tribute was beautiful and all of the dancers were extraordinary. Congratulations to the WCA team on another incredible celebration of dance. I’ll cherish this honor forever. XoP 🤍
